Well if anyone can do it that guy can. And here’s another possibility of a small guy who might hang in there….. James Toney

Not weighing 168, that would be insane, Toney was far heavier than Conn at heavyweight and on PEDS.

Conn was 174 when he fought Louis which still puts him at light heavyweight and he still gave Joe Louis all kinds of problems. And it’s not impossible for a sub heavyweight version of Toney to give Tyson a few rounds given his elite defense and durability

No way could a super middle take Tyson`s power, nobody at super middle banged like Tyson and 174 is far too small against the agression of Tyson, Louis was more methodical.

The thread asked about “ light heavyweights “ and the names being thrown around here are guys who fought anywhere from middleweight to heavy weight. Hell, one of them “ Ezzard Charles “ even won the heavyweight title. Another point to make is that the thread isn’t necessarily about men who can BEAT Tyson. It’s about ones that “ wouldn’t do bad against him. “

I don't know if Charles would be fast enough to stay out of Tysons way. There are certain heavies that light heavyweights in general could do good against. For example, Charles would do alot better vs prime Ali or prime Holmes or prime Norton (though he'd be the underdog vs Ali & Holmes) than he'd do against prime Tyson and to a lesser extent, prime Frazier.

I agree with the premise of what you’re saying and you are probably correct. Although when Charles was declining he still managed to go 15 rounds with Marciano. Earlier he beat a lot of big punchers. But I know that Mike Tyson is a different kind of animal so who knows.

Rolling the dices on Toney, Archie or Ezzard on their prime,as good as Mike was I'm not confident on his clinch/inside game either.

Spot on Goo, it's guys that put in a good effort.
There's not a great deal of fighters I actually see beating Tyson from the heavyweight s, and tbh no light Heavy s.
