I'd actually love this fight, but maybe in around six to eight months and two fights time for Moses, as his chin and stamina haven't been tested, nor has he been on the front table, so Whyte has a big edge in those areas. Moses, though, is a sharpshooter and powerful and could possibly take Whyte out with an uppercut a la Povetkin and Fury.
Are you suggesting Itauma isnt ready to face Whyte in 2025? He would’ve planked Whyte in his pomp ffs
If the fight took place tomorrow, next week, next month or next year - same outcome. Itauma by brutal KO against fringe British Level Whyte.
No, I'm just saying a fight against Whyte is a headline fight; look at Eubank against Saunders. Jnr started the fight incredibly slow and finished like a train because he had a lot left in the tank. Saunders, despite being leaps and bounds above Eubank in ability, almost lost the fight due to his ill discipline, and had Eubank had more confidence in his engine, he could have won that fight, simply by starting faster. So much more to top-level boxing than raw talent; otherwise, Frankie Gavin would have been an ATG, and we all know from past experience Whyte is juiced as much as you can possibly be. No one knows Moses's level yet; he hasn't had the test like Fisher had with Allen,, whereby after four rounds I just knew.
Then we know for sure he's the real deal, but do you believe Warren is going to take that kind of risk for his next fight? Fair play if he does, but Warren has been risk-averse with prospects since he overworked and overmatched Keith Wallace, which was way before my time, but some ex-pros said as much to me.
Whyte was British Level in his prime and now he is a glorified ex British Level Journeyman. There is a reason Whyte shat his pants when Bakole called him out. It is a low risk fight for Itauma and he would probably get the same workout against the very limited War Chisora.
lol wtf the point is that Itauma doesn’t need to be some sort of future great to beat Whyte. Itauma is better than any version of Whyte and people who know what they’re looking at have enough foresight to see that
Where’s @BubblesUK whyte’s biggest fanboy who says he’d win comfortably? Gone missing since he obliterated demsey Mckean
Dillian Whyte is nowhere good enough to be Itauma's sparring partner let alone opponent. It would be a great fight for Moses, close to 0 risk and a massive casual name
If it was a 10-round undercard fight on a Saudi card, it wouldn't shock me at all if Moses knocked Whyte out in the first round with a sharp uppercut. A 12-round headline card in London, with all the build-up that goes with it, and for me it's a somewhat different proposition; you can't faze Dillian mentally; there is nothing he hasn't seen in the game and in life. Itauma, on the other hand, has never had to sell a show and do all the press that goes with it; that can tap a person out, especially a raw rookie, plus Whyte will try to rattle him from day one. How Moses responds to him face-to-face will also tell a lot, as you say when Bakole put it on him, he didn't look quite as comfortable as he did when Chisora did the same a few years earlier. Plus, I kind of have a soft spot for Whyte, although nowhere near the level of @Aydamn, who I am surprised hasn't yet commented since rising from the ashes. Plus, come on, @Beale, everyone who is British outside of Fury is a journeyman pudding to you, and there is a world of difference between going 6 rounds and jumping straight to the 10-12 round level; almost every top pro comments on what a jump it is. Yet looking at it in a simple hypothetical way and removing any bias or emotion given the performance against Tetteh compared to Moses against Dempsey, it's hard to see past him blowing out Whyte, but if he's still in there after 4-5 rounds and not taking a beating, then like Fisher-Allen, it could get interesting. Whatever the result, it will give an indication of where Moses is, which no one 100% knows at this point despite the rapid progress he has made. I like the fight, though, but I can't see Dillian settling for some 10-round undercard unless he knows he himself is done.
You will find many positive comments from me when Dubois fought Usyk and his next hard 12 round fight against Big Baby Miller which I think made him as a man and the catalyst for his success to World Champion. The lad came through a hard 12 rounds against the Big Baby sticking it on him and was under pressure for every second of that fight until the stoppage. A great gut check of a fight where he came through proving to himself he does not need the knee. The fights and opponents got progressively easier after that with the dangerous Hrgovic taken out after having early success and the complete obliteration of Mr Olympic Gold Medal, MBE and fighting Pride of Matchroom HQ. I did also like Joe Joyce but he was aged out by the belts held hostage and a disgrace that he did not get a World Title Shot after wiping out Parker. You will also find I rate Martin Bakole highly as well and I do like watching Fabio Wardley although he is more limited. Yes I have never rated Whyte, Chisora, Joshua, Dave Price and Dave Allen very highly and it is simply coincidental Hearn promoted them all. Now the previous era is over, looking forward to supporting Dubois defending his belt and cheering on Ituama, Bakole and Wardley.
