Unpopular opinion - Lomachenko is the most overrated boxer in the past decade

That was a blatant robbery whereas Loma was not robbed he just lost to the better fighters. Why is he afraid to face Tank? Of course when Tank knocks him out we know the excuses coming that Loma was to old etc.

 

Loma is one of the best fighters of the past 10 years. That is undeniable. His stats & achievements are exceptional. However, i think he has made some bad career choices. Personally i wish he had turned pro 4 years earlier & also not been so obstinate about 135.. Arum wasn't a good move either. He should have taken a leaf out of K2 & Usyks book.

Most overrated of the past 10 years? No chance. I'd say Spence. A one division fighter who since 2020 has had just THREE fights.. Crawford (lost badly), Ugas (nothing special & still nearly got chinned) & Garcia (a career LWW who hasn't been relevant since 2017).. Yet people were saying this guy was top 3 P4P! That is OVERRATED.

He spent years calling out Wahid, but he never stepped up to the challenge.

 

I agree. Hyped over the moon because he was delivered a few completely undeserved title shots which he won, after losing to a journeyman when in reality he just hit the ground running because he had 10000 amateur fights.

Then loses to a kid with 17 pro fights, loses to Haney, and I think he also robbed Ortiz who out boxed him. His record sits at 18-3 yet all we have been hearing for years is how he is an ATG and top p4p. I think its laughable. His long AM career led to some serious pro flaws, he pitty patters too much, tries to steal rounds, hesitates too much to let his hands go when he is uncomfortable. He has some nice skills but he is not special as advertised.

One of the most over hyped fighters ever probably. Oh and he is ducking Tank.

You could say the same for so many fights for so many fighters in history. Its called a close fight, but apparently when Loma loses close fights they ain't 'real loses'. Amusing.

 

He was great to watch but I agree, he did develop (still has) a really hardcore fan base that overhyped him massively.

He was overrated. Now here's what that means. He is an excellent fighter an all-time great a Hall of Famer but the problem is how he was marketed. They kept on marketing him as one of the top 20 fighters of all time which I don't think he ever was. So yes I agree is overrated but easily an all-time great nonetheless

 

Fury's overrated but at least legit.
Crawford isn't typically massively overrated either.

Tank and Wilder on the other hand are hugely overrated for guys with thin resumes - especially Wilder, who is most likely the actual most overrated fighter of the past decade.

 

Sturm may have deserved the verdict over Oscar but Oscar is no hero to me so wash your mouth out with soap Sir.

 

Tank is not overrated. Wilder has not much by way of boxing skills whereas Tank is full of skills and power.

 

If Loma had all the hometown advantages like other ATG’s he could possibly be the GOAT.
The Salido fight was BS and Salido wanted no part of a rematch. Loma kicked Haney’s ass and was blatantly robbed. He was injured going into the Lopez fight and still almost won if he was the hometown guy they may have given him the decision it wouldn’t have been any worse than some of the robberies we have seen and a fully fit Loma would’ve convincingly beat Lopez in a rematch.
He was also ducked by Mikey Garcia he would’ve taken Mickey’s zero in my opinion.

 

We all know you were rooting for Oscar over Floyd so save it.

I watched the fight with an aspiring journalist at the time and now Top Rank Executive and we both scored it for Floyd. Sorry but I have never rote for Oscar in my life. Never would as he is a disgrace dressing up in high heels, stilettos, wearing make up and suspenders. Call me old fashioned but the likes of Salvador Sanchez, Lupe Pinto, Julio Cesar Chavez Snr, Lopez, etc never behaved like that. This in part no doubt is why Canelo is disgusted with him.
