Looked like he was about to jump in and he hesitated. On the one hand, after the performance Nyika put in, that was respectful, giving him every last opportunity ...on the other, it led to a pretty scary few minutes for everyone before he woke up.

Could maybe question the quality second tier opposition below Briedis (with the exception of Massey), but he's dealt with them in the manner in which you'd expect him to deal with that level of opponent.

I personally think he's got power and is decent but I dont see some future ATG just now. He may prove me wrong. But he's like a sruiserwieght vic darchynian. Usyk should be next. and he'll lose to him and look bad.

    That's to be seen
It would be a challenge for Usyk anyway

I'm at work. How does Jai look? I wasn't initially a fan, but he's won me over.

yep. He's very very good dont get me wrong. And im not some connoisseur. But I dont quite buy into the megahype. He's entertaining and can bang and is a good combination puncher..

Wicked BRAWL that , G'wn Jai , hope David is recovering well in the Sheds , as a precaution maybe an overnight stay in the hospital is required,
Moving on up I'm a long time fan of Jai but he needs to be cleaning out the Cruiserweights before any tall of Usyk is being suggested imo.

Dave Nyika will become a champion one day and who knows, in 4 yrs we might see a rematch.

Despite ending in 4R with a KO loss, I have a feeling Nyika may have left a good impression for future fights at the least.

Obviously Opetaia was a step too fast and he isn't/shouldn't be fighting anytime soon, but around the end of the year I hope he can get on a decent card against a decent ranked opponent, I think his first 3R made it worth watching again.

He got a clear decision against Briedis ( not without troubles I agree, but nobody boxed Briedis like this during so many rounds). Not to mention that Briedis is a guy that arguably had a draw against Usyk

Brutal and ruthless. Got dragged into a shootout but one he was always going to win.

Jai is certainly knocking on the door now... Other than ramirez there is nothing for him there its a dead division. Either usyk boils down to cruiser or they meet at heavyweight. its a no brainer

I've been saying for a while now that Jai is a P4P top 10 talent and has P4P top 10 skills but that he doesn't have the resume yet to warrant inclusion. He probably still doesn't but he's clearly one of the best 10 fighters in the world for me and even though Briedis is old and past his best he still might be the #2 CW in the world even now.

Dave Allen said the other day that he feels Briedis is the most underrated fighter of the last 20 years and I think he might be right about that or if not he's certainly one of the most underrated in recent memory. He would've been ranked in the P4P top 10 if he came from North America and Jai would be too after beating him
