...to follow up on how barren CW is, man, looking at the first page of rankings on BoxRec and it's eye-opening just how old the division skews.

    All top 40:

    37 year old Masternak
    39 year old Pérez
    39 year old Cinkara
    37 year old Goulamirian
    36 year old Ngabu
    43 year old Włodarczyk
    38 year old Dorticós
    41 year old Kovalev
    54 year old Arslan
    37 year old Makabu
    36 year old Mchunu
    41 year old Pulev
    42 year old Pascal
    38 year old Caparello
    39 year old Johnson
    37 year old Apochi

That is SIXTEEN names over the age of 35. 16/40 - that's 40%. Is there another weight class with as high a Methuselah quotient?

I absolutely cannot stand the whole YouTuber circus but just being realistic - you do understand that he is the holy grail of paydays right now, yes?

Of course in a fair world the Paul brothers wouldn't be famous and Jake would never belong in a ring with a world champion (he'd get smoked by Nyika, tbh) - but the sad fact is that money talks and he's a more lucrative option than literally any current active cruiserweight.

Mate, Jake Paul might be money but he is not stupid enough to get in the ring and literally risk his life fighting this guy.

And Opetaia is an old-school warrior. He wouldn’t disrespect the sport by taking it to the circus.

Plus, if you ever wanted to see a fatality in the ring, this is the sort of bout that would facilitate it.

    It’s no chance of happening.

I dunno how much credit you’d want to give Boxrec mate.

Opetaia is eyeing off Ramirez and then possibly Usyk.

He will never fight a clown like Jake Paul. I stake my account on it.

The fight won't ever happen so no need to put your account on it

30 million offered, he fights him

    End of story

And do you think Jake Paul risks his long term wellbeing taking that fight?

Then you said for $30m it happens.

So frankly I have no idea what your position is. You seem to be saying that both guys have a price. And I don’t agree with that. Paul is rich enough and from what I can tell, is not a complete idiot who would risk his life like that. And Opetaia will do just fine for himself as he has a heap of options that don’t include a Youtube clown.

Just watched the replay. Opie did what he had to do, but got hit a lot by a lower level opponent. Also Opie landed a lot of low blows while going to the body very well. He seemed a lot more motivated than he was against Breidis last time.

No, the Tua one was a one punch KO, this guy was coming off the floor and on shaky legs then Jai finished.

Let's not forget this was a late replacement who had to be given a world ranking to make the fight viable. This is the outcome that was to be expected after all.

It would be good for the division if Opetaia stuck around for a bit. Unify the division, attempt a couple of defenses and then see whats waiting at heavyweight.

Nyika was solid regardless of the brutal knockout I would like to see him against Riakporhe
