George Foreman 1974 Sonny Liston 1964 Joe Frazier 1971 Ken Norton 1973 Jerry Quarry 1972 Larry Holmes 1980 Henry Cooper 1963 Oscar Bonavena 1970 Is Rocky 57-0?
Pretty much what Dynamic said though Frazier fight would be interesting and I would say its 50/50 really comes down to who falters first and it could be either guy both are tough and could fight at an insane pace but I feel like Frazier would probably outlast Marcanio. Foreman and Liston would be pretty much impossible for Marciano to beat.
Foreman by KO 1 Liston by KO 2 Frazier by TKO 13 Marciano TKO's Norton in 12 Marciano TKO's Quarry in 10 Holmes by TKO in 10 Marciano KO's Cooper in 7 Marciano by UD over Bonavena 4 wins,,,at most, and I'm not confident he runs the table on Norton, Quarry and Bonavena
Loses to Liston and Foreman, I give him a slight edge over Frazier due to having better two fisted power. he beats the rest.
Beats Bonavena, Cooper, Quarry and perhaps Norton. I slightly favor Frazier over him. I favor Holmes. Foreman definitely. Liston definitely, although since Liston is more measured as compared to Foreman, he would leave more of a window of opportunity for Marciano to perhaps squeeze through.
I count 4 or 5 Ls. You reckon a 38 year old Rocky is gong to whup a prime Holmes or a 32 year old Rocky beating a prime Foreman.
Actually, I see it like this: Foreman (Foreman by KO in 2) Liston (Liston by KO in 4) Norton (Marciano by TKO in 13) Frazier (Frazier by late TKO or UD) Holmes 60/40 (for Holmes, maybe UD) Bonavena (Marciano by UD over 15) Quarry (Marciano by TKO in 8) Cooper (Marciano by KO in 6) 53-4 As a bonus, we could add Shavers and Lyle, which would make the record 55-4 (I believe Marciano stops both).
Henry Cooper 1963 Sonny Liston 1964 Oscar Bonavena 1970 Joe Frazier 1971 Jerry Quarry 1972 Ken Norton 1973 George Foreman 1973 Larry Holmes 1980 This is a 18 year span (counting 1963 as year one). Marciano took on upper echelon heavies from 1951 to 1955. One might grant that he could have hit big time earlier, that WWII somewhat deferred his having to decide on boxing rather than baseball; and that Marciano was still a formidable fighter at the time of his retirement. But stretching Rocky's career over Ali's actual span in meeting these fighters is very, very speculative, even without some of Ali's challenging fights of 1974-1977. [Ali himself met Freman in 1974, but if you want to help Marciano a bit by making his bout with George happen in '73, thats OK].
For your analogy to be apt he's 38 years old when he faces Holmes and coming out of a six year retirement with no tune ups. He's 35 years and coming out of a three year retirement to fight Earnie and he's 33 when he's fighting Ron.
