I'd say Rocky more often than not since his 0 isn't as debatable as Mayweather's is. Though at the same time, Floyd faced much better names at a much higher volume than Marciano did. I think I'd respect Mayweather's record more if he didn't try to pad it to get past the Rock.

Floyd fought way better competition and has way better wins then Rocky who really only has a couple good wins.

Floyd’s record is much deeper. Many more title fight wins, belts in multiple divisions. Possibly even more victories over hall of fame comp

I believe the Rock beat four Hall of Famers. I will leave it to my fellow posters to discuss where they were in their careers when Rocky beat them.

Floyd beat younger, bigger fighters across numerous weight classes and over many years, nearly two decades. He also had very few close shaves. When he had youth advantage over similar sized fighters he was unstoppable. As he got older ,he moved up the weights ceding the advantage of natural size and, latterly, youth. And still he won by a country mile.

Rocky, as has been said time and again, beat what was in front of him. But he did tend to fight naturally smaller men or men who were at the tail end of their careers. Or, in the case of Moore and Charles, both. And they gave him some tough moments. Also his window of dominance was much briefer than Floyd's.

It's no shame not coming close to Floyd's record. In any honest or unprejudiced examination, very few do. This is Floyd.

Both overrated in terms of records.

128-1-2 is a better record than both of them. So is 134-1-1.

But I’d have to say Floyd’s 50-0 is better than Rocky’s 49-0, and not just because it is one win more.

Rocky because he did it while being severely inferior to Floyd as a fighter.

Rocky's win over Ted Lowry, according to reports I've read, was controversial...maybe as much so as Floyd's over Castillo. Agree with you about padding towards the end though.

Joe Louis, Ezzard Charles, Archie Moore and Joe Walcott. All of them were old and two of them were fighting above their natural weight.

I once had a poster on another site argue that boxers mature differently and Walcott and Moore were close to prime.

Rocky's an over achiever. His whole entire career is a testament to overcoming and I don't think anyone else has gone as far with so little.

Floyd's got probably the best resume, you know paper stuff, I mean more than just wins and losses and names, **** like who fought the most champions and such.

They're both astounding careers with astounding fights to be seen with in but who you prefer or say is better is probably based more on your own personal bias than any reality.
