Actually it is debatable some felt Marciano lost the 1st LaStarza fight. And he had a very close fight vs journeyman Ted Lowry early in his career that some feel might of been a fixed fight.

Bulls reminded me of Lowry. I've heard that Lastarza was close, but not fixed- Marciano won by way of being awarded a draw breaking point by the ref.

Michael J. Thomas of the Providence Journal wrote, "Marciano did not win the fight. This reporter gave it to Lowry, six rounds to four.”

The crowd of 3,696 booed the decision and some wondered if Lowry had thrown the fight. "There were some questions as to whether Lowry, who had come close to knocking out Marciano in the second, third and fourth rounds, deliberately bogged down in his attack after the fourth stanza," Thomas wrote. "Lowry stopped using his uppercut after the fourth. He went into a shell and only occasionally landed power shots. He seemed to be carrying Marciano.

"It was Lowry, not Marciano, who was on the verge of scoring an early knockout, stinging Marciano with two terrific rights in the first round and then rocking him with two mighty uppercuts in the second. By the fourth, a staggered Marciano seemed just one punch away from being knocked out. But then, inexplicably, Lowry stopped fighting and retreated into a shell despite warnings from the referee to open up and a cascade of boos from the crowd. To many, it appeared that Lowry was deliberately carrying Marciano. Was foul play afoot? Was Lowry getting paid to lose? Or was he merely tiring? Whatever the reason, a revived Marciano managed to rally in the late rounds even though many of his punches missed their mark or lacked force. On the basis of his aggressiveness and constant punching, Marciano won a unanimous decision from the judges. Most observers felt, however, that Lowry should have won.

So there is a quite an asterisk over Marciano's undefeated record.

Now if they were the same size Floyd would slice up Rocky bad.

Floyd's record is superior, but it's only a fluke of numbers of no relevance whatsoever that this thread is based on and that has nothing to do with Floyd's superiority.

Floyd. He remained undefeated in 4 weight divisions. Overall, he fought better opposition (except for that farce with McGregor). I don't count the McGregor fight as a pro fight so I have them tied at 49-0, with Floyd's more impressive.

Is this serious? Floyd is a dick and at times was a diva later on, but his resume is way deeper than Rocky and he dominated many of his opponents

    Rocky without question.

If Mayweather had been in Rocky's place he'd have fought bums for 4 years waiting for Walcott, Charles and Moore to become totally decrepit and then claimed the world's greatest victory after luring their dried out remains into the ring. He'd have avoided LaStarza after putting up a poll to the public that named him as the most wanted fight. Floyd would have called Liston easy work and then fought a no-hoper to round off his career. He'd have still been busted for IVgate.

Marciano fought who he had to fight when he had to. Not only that but he devastated his opponents and made sure there were no questions about who the boss was. Floyd bored us to tears in most of his fights as he pitter pattered his way to yet another yawnful points win.

Nearly a third of our fellow posters think it's serious.
