Sam's a good fighter but not a ppv draw.
Heard the recent ppv where he headlined was one of the worst in terms of buys.

I was being slightly sarcastic. He's about to be transformed into a sushi roll in a couple weeks. (Hopefully not though!)

Really enjoyed the mid-week fights. The performances of our three big men underscore the great potential that exists in Australian boxing.

With all due respect to George Kambosos, Jai looked FEROCIOUS against Kiwi David Nyika. While many are talking about his potential at H/W, let's perhaps enjoy his run at Cruiser. We could have another UNDISPUTED world champion on our hands real soon. And if we produce one, he'll be in the frame for fights with other Undisputed world champs like Usyk or Beterbiev. First things first though, let's enjoy the unification fights when & if they get made. Commiserations to one of the Sandman's personal favourites, Aussie Dave Nyika. He's still 10 and 0 as an Australian as far as I'm concerned. He's 0 and 1 as a Kiwi. He certainly made it entertaining by engaging with Jai rather than employing Octopus tactics. It was disturbing to see him down & apparently out for so long after the kayo. Whether he should continue with a professional boxing career is something he should seek advice on from medical professionals. David Light mounted a spirited challenge when he fought for a Cruiser world title but it's simply not worth it if the price to be paid is infirmity for the rest of your life.

Floats like a Butterfly, stings like a bee, Justis Huni, looked FRESH against the Seth Efrican Heavyweight champ. Never gave him a chance & got him out of there inside two rounds. Three quick kayo wins has him SITTING PRETTY & ready to become only the second man in Australian boxing history to claim a second-tier version of a major world title at Heavyweight. One of the great things about Justis from my perspective is that b/c he was badly hurt against Kevin Lerena, the rest of the world doesn't particularly rate him as a serious player in the H/W division. That gives him TROJAN HORSE status in the sense that some dope will take a big fight with him thinking they're going to have an easy time of it. I think with some momentum behind him, Huni will prove to be a vastly different kettle of fish when next he struts the world stage. Apparently he's got an elbow injury that needs fixing surgically so get that right before locking in anything else. He's going to have to produce his best if the mooted fight with the young Englishman goes ahead.

Lastly, but by no means least, boxing royalty & KING OF THE COOK ISLANDS, Teremoana Jr, BLASTED OUT a soft Euro in the first. There's something about seeing a human being get swatted like a blowfly by Teremoana that is cathartic to behold. In time, they're going to have to find guys who can give him some rounds in order to develop his stamina & conditioning. The fact that he didn't get rounds under his belt during his run to the Olympics was as significant in denying him gold as was the dud draw & questionable scoring he encountered. In the meantime, let's just enjoy heads hitting the canvas. Keep doing that & he will build a healthy following.

Bad cuts take time. They didn't wait long enough and result is hardly a surprise.

Hope everyone enjoyed the fights on Wednesday night. The atmosphere was absolutely electric.

While Jai is more than likely to have his biggest fights away from home, there’s no reason he can’t keep taking care of mandatories and voluntary defences here at home.

Justis looked the business. Fast start and never let Potties off the hook. The surgery he requires on his elbow is an absolute nothing. 2 weeks recovery or so, I’m told. Keen to keep him active.

Wrapped with Money Max. This kid absolutely gets it from a promotional view. Eddie Hearn was very impressed by him. He was nervous but took care of business. You won’t meet a nicer kid either, don’t be fooled by the showmanship and talk. He knows how to sell a fight, get behind him.

I’m told DAZN are ecstatic with it all. The promotion was a big success. Makes a bit of a mockery of the “Opetaia doesn’t sell” talk I’ve heard from some in the game.

    On to the next.

Assaulted 2 coppers this time, apparently. That'll go well for him.

Kali should give a darn good flogging.

Liam Wilson is rematching Youssef Dib headlining a No Limit show on March 1st.
Pretty disappointing in my opinion, Wilson already wrecked Dib with a brutal KO last time. I really can’t see the rematch going any differently. Hopefully the under card is good.
