Agree 100%. I've been say the same thing. I asked the question, do people say Salvador Sanchez was green. Died at 23 had 44 pro fights.
Floyd fans are such cry babies he was obviously a great fighter but it is not just his personality that rubs people the wrong way the guy was a flat out manipulator who twisted and bent the rules for his own advantage. You don’t see guys like Usyk or even Crawford pull BS like what Floyd did. Ducking, catch weights, cherry picking, rehydration clauses, demanding what gloves his opponent has to wear, never leaving his hometown for a fight, having the same referee a lot of the time. This has encouraged other young American fighters to start pulling the same BS. Canelo instead of thinking hey what Floyd did to me was unfair that shouldn’t happen in boxing instead he thought oh well now I will start pulling the same sleazy tactics with my opponents.
It's probably the only time the much older fighter gets discredited for beating a young talented champion whilst being the smaller man aswell i might add.
what was canelos amateur record? that counts as experience as well. Thats why loma looked so good in his second pro fight, his 396-1 amateur record prepared him.
just looked it up, he had 46 fights + his pro fights. teo had 170 fights + his pro fights. oscar had 228 + his pro fights. now duran, who is in the convo for best fighter ever, had only 32 amateur fights. and sanchez, also in convo for best ever, only had 18. i think the numbers reflect their true experience and eventual greatness. canelo is not in this class of fighter, so he isnt going to do what top atg's were able to do. he had to perfect his game, it didn't come as natural to him as it did duran and sanchez.
Good win for Mayweather. However, I consider Canelo overrated. I do think he got better after the Mayweather fight but he should have a few more losses on his resume. Old Pac-Man and De La Hoya are better wins.
What are you talking about? You do realize that Floyd's walk around weight at that point ws 150. Think about that? Most Welterweights, especially now days walk around in the 170's. His first title was at Super Featherweight and he was dominating guys that were way bigger than he was like Canelo who walks around at 190 and ended up wining world titles at 175. Cherry pick my ass, give credit where credit is due.
Read my earlier post where I said it was a good win and he put on a masterclass. But to deny that Canelo was compromised is just wrong. Also I did not call Canelo a cherry pick but Floyd made sure to compromise him on the scales so that he could have an unfair advantage.
Canelo and his team offered the catchweight and as Leonard Ellerbe said when you have an idiot for a manager his job is to take advantage of you and your idiotic management.
