Used to Love Kirkland Laing growing up, more so, considering he was just a stones throw away from me, I remember when he did a right number on Warren prospect. George Collins, no discipline though, and sad how he ended up.
Ringside on Sky Sports in the mid 90s was a great show around the time Jones boxed Toney. Used to love it.
Agree, he was pretty much perfect in that fight against an elite, yet weight drained Toney. I’ve watched it so many times. Awesome performance.
boxing has the lowest bar to entry of any sport, so anybody with the time and inclination can label themselves BoxingBonanzaTV or FightFanboys and just turn up to shove an iPhone in the face of an 8-0 prospect from Kidderminster as for the original question, it’s so hard to make a living from any freelance journalism nowadays, let alone on a topic so niche that only invades the general public’s consciousness two or three times a year
Bunce has a clear passion for boxing that shines through, especially when he's recalling events he witnessed, although he did go down in my estimation when he was sitting a row behind me at one show and talked through every fight, hardly bothering to look towards the ring. Print journalists are still the best as they've usually been trained properly or at least have years of experience, unlike the Internet mob who think a keyboard and a soundbite make you Norman Mailer.
The best journalists love writing, loving boxing is not enough. And loving ya iPhone certainly isn't.
Unfortunately, it's Elon's world; he might tell the world he bought Twitter for free speech, but it was to ultimately force his views down everyone's throat. He took a huge gamble on Trump that has paid off, so everything is changing very rapidly.
closed journalism is just not as relevant anymore due to advances in technology. I don't have any issue with open source journalism as opposed to closed source.
