Fury retired at least 2 times already: 2017 and 2022. Do you think he's for real this time or he is just in his feelings because he was embarrased by losing to a gap teeth middleweight rabbit foreigner, a smaller and an older man he said he would anniihilate even after 10 pints and if he couldn't beat him he had never been any good? He's still delusional about being robbed. Let's say "retirement" means he won't get in the ring for the next 15 months. All we know he could do the Larry Holmes and come back after 2 years and school some young talent while in his 40's in the process.
I would say "No." But he lives a pretty chaotic lifestyle, particularly when he doesn't fight. So, any time he's not focused, things can happen that prevent another comeback and delay another run. His conditioning was really bad just a month ago. He's probably 300 pounds already.
Yes! Fury is definitely leaving... he already made a lot of money and gave two excellent fights despite not being at his best... and for me he won the second fight...
To be fair, he came back in a really good shape out of his "retirement" in 2022 to fight Chisora. But it was over 2 years ago. Some more french reds and columbian whites passed through his body along the way.
of course not remember when Fury was saying he wouldnt fight Usyk because hes a glorified middleweight? lolz
This must be at least the 5th time he has retired from boxing. He has always struck me as the type to still be boxing at 40 having built up 5-6 losses on the record. I think he lacks the discipline to stay retired, and he over estimates how good he is when he hasn't trained. For example, Ngannou and McDermott fights being excellent examples.
He'll comeback when a basic plodder has a belt he can snipe. Otherwise he isn't letting Turkey's billions lure him into fights that don't serve him AKA fighting the bodybuilding bum looking to snipe a legacy from a dead career Fury is finished in body though and Usyk is not far behind. Differenc is Fury knows extremely well that his body is done whilst Usyk is still eeking it out. If Usyk does the Dubious rematch he'll recognize that he shouldn't be playing with fire anymore unless he is happy to get beat.
Right. But he'd probably have to lose 40 pounds at this point to get down to the 260s again. He was 280+ a month ago after training camp. I've always thought he'd fight for a long time. And I always thought he was the type who would retire over and over. Boxing is his whole deal. But he's got kind of a Johnny Tapia vibe about it him, unfortunately. We'll see.
If it was almost any other fighter I would say yes. But Fury is too unpredictable to know for sure. He could never step in the ring again or they could announce Fury/AJ in the next week.
