Of course Holmes is an atg. He beat who, where you legitimate can say he was an atg or hof first ballot?
Ali doesn't count because he was shot to pieces

Adamek yes. But Gomez and Briggs? Briggs wasn't even considered a Top 10 guy at the time. He lost to Sultan Ibragimov whom Wlad beat 2 fights later and after that his best win was Rob Calloway. Gomez was a Top 10 dude but nothing major. Which says a lot because it's the fourth best guy Vitali beat in his second career. Can't compare these guys to Byrd, Ibragimov, Chagaev, Povetkin, Pulev or even Brandon Jennings. Wlad didn't fight Vitali who was number 2 of the era, but beat number 2 of his pre-Vitali reign in Chagaev and then beat 2 numbers 2s of his post-Vitali reign in Povetkin and Pulev.

Come on man. Everybody elevates their guy. Case and point, Fury fans talk up Wilder. Let that sink in. LOL

I dislike rating Usyk era because we are still in it and things are yet to happen be done. But I would put Holmes era over Klitchskos and I would agree Larry, while supremely talented, would take the path of least resistance through some of his defenses. But.....he also was dealing with Don King and the inconsistent 80s heavyweights, so I'll pass some blame around to others as well

This.....say if Fury continues on then loses ? Say if Dubois gets dominated by Parker ? People are too quick to jump the gun.

So many do though. The disrespect even from the media and talking heads has been insane. We had Nick Wright claim Jokic is the worst MVP winner of the last 40 years. The Kendrick Perkins nonsense. Max Kellerman saying Jokic wasn't a current top 5 player (hands down the best player in the world wasn't current top 5) and so much more. The most ridiculous and absurd takes. It was beyond embarrassing to watch.

    For sure

I never said otherwise and we Brits are right up there with the worst of them in that regard

    Agreed across the board.

Wrt to Wlads era: I think it lacked the strong runner-ups in AJ, Fury, and Wilder, but there’s no actual reason to believe anyone else is better than the contenders in Wlads era. Povetkin and Chisora are held up as good wins for many of these guys, a decade past their prime.

I still think this era was a little stronger over all because of the combination of Usyk, Fury, AJ, and Wilder (in that order, lol!)

But many on this forum think all of them always sucked except Usyk, so to them, this has to be the weakest division of all time, and Usyk can’t be that good…… (I don’t think this way, but it’s a logical fallacy you see often around here - Usyk is a GOAT and everyone he fought sucks)

I often wonder of some of these "analysts" give these hot takes and hyperbole just for the controversy. And Max needs to STFU and stick to boxing.

Some of them do for sure

Yeah, that take from Kellerman might be the worst sports related take ever.

Yeah. The only sports I follow or watch are boxing, MMA and basketball.

    Who's your team?

I grew up a Celtics fan. Obviously, I loved Bird, but my favorite player was Reggie Lewis (RIP). I watched Reggie play in college when I was a kid and always loved his game.

Who do you support, Serge? And what kind of love does the League get across the pond??

OK cool. The Celtics are obviously one of the very best and most stacked teams but they have been struggling a bit of late

    The Nuggets

It's pretty popular over here but that being said none of my mates are basketball fans.

Generally I tend to just follow the Nuggets (and I try to watch all their games) because obviously the time difference over here makes it difficult. The Nuggets are fun to watch too. This season every game feels like a playoff game
