I hope someone at the press conference asks "isn't Usyk the WBA champion" then when they say he is the super champion, they ask "so what's the difference between the regular and super champion?"

Mike Tyson's record is based on him winning an alphabet belt. Michael Spinks was the lineal champ at the time & Tyson didn't face him until later on. Itauma will collect an alphabet belt for beating Pulev.

If you only recognise the lineal champ as the one true champ, Floyd Patterson holds the record as youngest ever heavyweight champ (21 years, 10 months).

If you recognise alphabet belts, Itauma will be fighting for one against Pulev

If you only recognise 'top tier' versions of alphabet belts, Mike Tyson is the youngest ever heavyweight champ (20 years, 4 months) & Itauma can't beat him by beating Pulev (unless Usyk relinquishes or is stripped of his 'top tier' version of the WBA belt).

In that case can we say Tyson would still be the youngest undisputed alphabet champ an not just any run of the mill alphabet champ cos he won all the alphabet belts including the one that Spinks gave up by beating all the other alphabet champs of the time? By the way who have been all the other great wba regular champs before Pulev won it? Should make good reading ha ha

I've just posted a factual summary of the situation. I didn't offer an opinion on which of the various categories is the most righteous. If you want to recognise an 'undisputed alphabet champ' category, okay.

Ugh don’t do that to Pulev

I get it. They want to beat the Mike Tyson record, Pulev has a belt, and Pulev is too old/slow to not get blasted out by Ituama in a round or two.

    but man. That just sucks.

It was an incredible strategy. If you fight no one, then how can you lose?

AJ is having some serious nightmares this week.
First Fury retired and so he may be forced get back in the ring with Dubious.
Now he's being set up to fight Wilder as well.

I don’t know him well but I run into to him here and there and he always makes an effort to say hi and are very nice and polite. I really wish him the best.

AJ Vs. Wilder is still the fight that after all these years, and after all these defeats of both boxers - an attractive fight for boxing connoisseurs.

It would be a shame if the fight never happened.
