I see many are favoring Madrimov to beat Ortiz Jr but I just don't see it. Ortiz is clearly the more talented fighter and I believe Madrimov is only getting hyped because he was competitive against Crawford. I have Prtiz Jr by decision due to stylistic matchup

Ortiz got dropped twice in his last fight. That’s what a lot of people are concerned about. He’s open enough that Madrimov can catch him and hurt him.

He hasn’t had many pro fights and he arguably beat Crawford so not really any grounds to call him overrated.

I think he is fairly rated IMO. Beating Kurbanov and giving Crawford a very tough fight gives him a good amount of credibility.

I think Madrimov V Vergil will be a very competitive fight.

    Ortiz should win
    Imo

But I can see how people
Might question Ortiz after he looked quite shaky vs Boachuck & imo lost that fight.

Add to that the health & inactivity issues he had for 2 years straight before the boahuchuck fight = not alot of confidence in Ortiz Jr.

so it does make sense that people are
“Overrating” Madrimov / underestimating Ortiz jr.

The only reason he gave Crawford a tough fight was because he was afraid to fight and let his hands go and spent most of the fight feinting. That did not impress me that much at all. I think he is overrated because of it.

They were the definition of flash knockdowns though Ortiz wasn't hurt at all and Ortiz dominated both of those rounds in which he got knocked down in to the extent the rounds could be scored only 10-9.

As for the thread no one knows we haven't seen enough of Madrimov he was tough stylistically for Crawford. But he didn't really let his hands go and was too busy feinting rather than throwing punches. Ortiz will force himself to fight more so we'll see what he's made of.
