I still think Lomachenko even though he's older now is the best fighter to watch in the sport. Usyk & Inoue are amazing but watching Loma is just different.

Respectfully — you’re comparing Usyk to Mayweather in terms of skill? That’s… just off to me, I guess, because it’s so hard to compare the skills of a naturally bigger man who physically just can’t do the stuff a naturally smaller man can do.

it’s a good time to be a fan. And we have the up and coming Bam Rodriguez to appreciate and follow. He may end up with a similar greatness arc. He’s immensely interesting to watch (and the cameramen need to make sure they zoom back a bit on him, because you’ve got to see his footwork to fully appreciate what he’s doing). His constant angle changes to facilitate body attacks to frustrate and break down opponents are entertaining. Don’t think I’ve seen anyone do it the same way and with as much success as he does.

and how about Ituama? Really early days for him, but if he really does hit as hard as it seems, if his timing really is as good as it seems, and if it turns out he’s got a solid chin, man, he may be something. Because he’s looking like he could be that same combo of speed and power that Iron Mike was.

Mayweather wasn't in his prime vs Pacquiao either and against ODLH Mayweather was fighting above his best weightclass and was the smaller man.

Oscar also looked extremely good smashing mayorga the fight prior

He was 34 fighting in a weight class he was very comfortable at, while Floyd was fighting in a new weight class and likely only weighed about 152-155 on the night. He was 2 years younger than Floyd, when Floyd fought the bigger, younger canelo

It was a great win at the time, many favoured Oscar, but of course the win has been writ off because people hate Floyd

Now Shane was past his best, but I remember many at the time accusing Floyd of ducking him and Shane was the champ at the time

Floyd did pick and choose at times, I can't deny that, but he has an excellent resume

His win vs cotto at 154 is better than many of the top champs today have on their resume, or his win over an undefeated hatton, while both essentially the same weight class. That was really 2 140 guys fighting for the 147 gold

People don't give Floyd his due, because they hate him personally. I hate Conor Mcgregor, but I still recognise his brilliant rise to the top.

Adam I remember people saw Mosley as a dangerous fight for Mayweather at the time after he destroyed Margarito. There was even some that were debating whether or not Mayweather would even fight Mosley.

Now I'm not saying Mayweather fought all these fighters at their absolute peak but people often forget Mayweather wasn't in his prime for alot of these fights either.

    For example.....

Canelo = People like to say Canelo was green but Mayweather was 36 years old and Canelo outweighed Mayweather by 15 pounds.

Pacquiao = People say Pacquiao was past his prime but was so was Mayweather he was 38 years old and would only have 1 more proper fight after the Pacquiao fight.

ODLH = Had been inactive but was coming off a good performance vs Mayorga and Mayweather fought ODLH at his preferred weightclass.

Mosley = People say Mosley was shot but his recent performances say otherwise he had a very competitive fight vs a prime Cotto, stopped Mayorga, and then destroyed Margarito.

I agree. And that does not relate to my point. If we are going to attack Usyk for lacking that singular p4p ATG then we need to recognize that Mayweather doesn't have that on his resume either.

Look at this way, the reason we thing of Ali the way we think of him is because he beat Foreman. If he doesn't beat Foreman then he isn't Ali. The reason we think of Duran the way we think of him is because he beat SRL. If he doesn't beat SRL then Duran isn't Duran.

There are levels to this. And Mayweather and Usyk are on a similar level.

I don't think Usyk and Mayweather are on the same level if you're talking strictly resume wise Mayweather has a considerably better resume than Usyk by quite some distance.

And that's not Usyk's fault its just you get more notable fighters in the lower weightclasses normally.

    Agreed
He didn't always fight prime fighters like Oscar and Shane, but he he did chase those guys when they were in their prime. I think Shane had a dental problem at one point lol

He also beat the very underrated cotto at a high weight class and cotto wasn't shot. He would go on to win gold at 160

Floyd definitely did do some careful matchmaking, but he thought many world title holders/ranked fighters, as did obviously manny too

Inoue was knocked down by an unknown fighter last year. He's overrated.

Compare their resumes then shall we ?

    Usyk's notable wins.....

    Fury x2
    Joshua x2
    Dubois
    Chisora
    Breidis
    Gassiev
    Glowacki
    Hunter
    Bellew
    Huck

    Mayweather's notable wins.....

    Pacquiao
    ODLH
    Canelo
    Mosley
    Cotto
    Hatton
    Castillo
    JMM
    Corrales
    Judah
    Gatti
    Maidana x2
    G.Hernandez
    Berto
    Ortiz

Mayweather has won 26 World title fights compared to 12 for Usyk.

Usyk has beaten 8 ranked fighters compared to like 23 for Mayweather.

Their resumes are similar ? I don't think so buddy.

How about you refute my point ? How is Usyk on the same level as Mayweather resume wise ?

Mayweather has over double the amount of wins Usyk has in world title fights.

Mayweather has over triple the amount of wins over Usyk over ranked opponents.

The statistics blow your theory out of the water so unless you have any credible argument then I would say you've been proved totally wrong.
