What would Pacquiao's legacy have been if he had retired after the Margarito fight?

How would he be remembered as a boxer if his career ended after the Margarito fight, without the fourth fight against Marquez, the Timothy Bradley fight, and the Mayweather fight?

Still an ATG regardless, I consider post-Margarito fight Pac a nice extra, cherry to the cake type, wins or losses, that should have ended with Thurman.

Not much changes. He would still be the best southpaw of all time. Still the best Asian fighter of all time. Still the best fighter since Leonard and Duran.

Doesn't matter what he did. His bogus "legacy" will always be inferior to that of Money May (aka THE GOAT).

Similar to the legacy Khabib has to MMA.

seemingly unstoppable, what if questions about how much more he could have accomplished, consensus hands down the GOAT of his generation, in the convos with SRL Duran Ali. (Fedor Jones GSP Silva)

He would have still been regarded as an ATG.

Its really bizzare because he'd have the benefit of the doubt of not actually fighting Mayweather and losing even if he'd lose most of his 147 resume. H2H he'd actually be ranked higher because you'd be taking away the Bradley and latter JMM fights and giving him back an air of invincibility he just doesn't have with his actual full career.

It is. Thats why its bizzare that he'd be viewed as better. But I think he would be.

I think almost everyone who favoured pacman to beat Floyd still would do.

I don't think the fight between them changed anyone's mind on the fight at their best .

Its not just the Floyd fight its the JMM, Bradley and even the Horn fights. If you cut Manny off after Margarito or Mosley I think hes seen in a better light as great as he already is.
