Povetkin was a great fighter, no doubt.

I wouldn't say "like everyone else". When AJ got the IBF belt Fury was still the number 1 HW in the world and Wlad was right behind him. AJ got the top spot in April 2017 when he beat Klitschko and Fury was inactive. Wilder was then the second best until he "drawed" with Fury and AJ as number 1 until Ruiz.

Its Fury. Think critically, when people look back at this era with hindsight the vast majority will see Fury as Usyks best win, because Fury was the one to dethrone Wlad and prime undefeated Wilder, not aj.

He also got smoked by Ruiz and DDD lololol

Fury and Wlad were both basically retired at this point.

Joshua could be argued was top 2 once he KO’d Waldo and went on a great run taking out Parker and Povetkin. Like I say who gives a fook if your previous ‘title’ fights were against Martin, Breazelle and the like. Those ‘world title’ fights are for the mug casuals. A bit like when Ricky Hatton used to defend his made up Micky mouse world title in Manchester.

You, you're the one who gives a fook. You were hyping Wilder loads when he beat Stiverne, people might look back now and question whether Wilder was ever really better than Povetkin and Parker, but the reality is Wilder was always ranked higher than them both and was always a favourite over them both.

In terms of wins, AJ has the better resume. If we consider losses, Fury is the winner.

Wlad didn't retire. He was waiting for the Fury rematch until October 2016 then he got injured and then he was immediately scheuled to fight AJ in April 2017. Fury "retired" in October 2016. In April 2016 they were still on the way for their rematch fight in July, which was rescheduled in June.

And if we consider fights that weren't losses, but easily could have been?
It becomes AJ with the better resume again.

The loss to Dubois will age fine, just as the losses to Fury and AJ don't particularly sour Wlad's place in history - losing to the top fighters of the next generation isn't too unusual... The loss to Ruiz is already aging badly.

Both their losses to Usyk will age fine.

Fury having asterisks against fighters like McDermott, Cunningham, Wallin and Ngannou will not age well... AJ by contrast doesn't really have those lucky escapes - he typically won and lost pretty clearly.

If nothing else... The fact that it can so easily be debated either way shows they're both close overall and quite different...

And the judgement typically comes down to how individual posters weigh up certain wins and losses.
