Many people discredit Manny’s win over Oscar. Many discredit many of Floyd’s wins. Terence is great. But despite his official accolades, he does not have a great resume. It isn’t his fault, as he can only fight who’s available. But we can only judge him on what he’s actually done.
He wouldnt be considered the Goat because people tend to hold onto the old guard a lot in boxing Most gifted is a very loose term which can be interpreted in many way. A boxer who is the best switch hitter of all time (by a lot), best timing ever, possibly the best finisher ever (all time great finisher), great speed, reflexes, power in both hands and ring IQ, would definitley be in the conversation as most gifted. Crawford isnt the most gited in the sense that he was a child prodigy (he wasnt, he was not even a great amateur) but his style suits the pros extremely well and has an argument for best collection of skills. He achieved this through natural talent and with his great work ethic I agree that his resume wouldnt be as good as some other greats. However his resume would be good enough and along with his unprecedented accomplishments and domination it would put him on top of the mountain Just my opinion of course.
Would be a 5 division champ Only Lightweight champ to be Super Middleweight champ Knocked out all of his opponents at Welterweight 2x Undisputed (would basically be 3x if he beat Canelo. No one cares about William Sculls IBF lets be real) Never been in a disputed fight (no Madrimov wasnt that close) This is an amazing resume
If you count GGG then yes thats a better win than Nunn or McCallum Canelo has a huge advantage in depth as you said
I totally disagree with this McCallum was only dominant at one weight. Good at middle as well Those guys you mentioned arent even better than Sean Porter. Im a Steve Collins fan and thought it was hilarious how he hypnotized Chris Eubank but lets relax
Floyd has more depth but Crawford would have 2 wins better than every Floyd win and greater weight range (less ducking and close fights as well) plus doing it in a more dominant fashion which counts for something
If he had Canelo in there I think its similar. Roy Jones resume wasnt so great considering his talent. Also getting knocked out a bunch of times when he wasnt that old yet is bad
He had to make the weight which took something out of him Great win for Mayweather but that Canelo wasnt the fighter he became later on
GGG was rated as number 1 by many publications (I think ESPN) but yes I agree the style of victory should put Toneys win over Nunn higher (ill concede)
Disagree. That version of Hopkins was very green. Didnt Hopkins have a draw with Mercado shortly after ? That wasnt the Hopkins that set a record number of Middleweight title defenses (although I think 93 Roy Jones beats any version of Hopkins at MW)
Yes sir. Hill was old, Hopkins was young All of that Spence being shot talk is revisionist history. Spence looked as good as ever vs Ugas in his previous fight minus the one lapse in concentration. People just say that Spence was done because Crawford beat him up so bad
Postol and Porter better than Reggie Johnson are you having a laugh mate ? Johnson is considerably more skilled than either of those fighters obviously you've not watched Johnson before. Johnson become a world champion at Light Heavyweight and the only one to beat him convincingly was RJJ.
RJJ had less fights than Hopkins.... Hill become a Cruiserweight champion after the RJJ loss.... Spence had 2 fights in 3 years and has done diddly squat since losing to Crawford he looked awful vs Crawford and looked a shadow of his former self. A doctor examined Spence and said he suffered neurological damage and shouldn't of been cleared to fight. You'd have to be gullible not to think a serious car crash and inactivity would have 0 effect on a fighter.
