Calzaghe stuck with Warren for far to long racking up those C-level WBO wins.

Who are you to say Lewis isn't English? He was born in the capital of England ffs. He moved to Canada at 12. He is essentially an Englishman who holds Canadian citizenship. Are you going to claim he's not English because his parents are Jamaican?

As a Brit who watched both of their careers unfold in real time, I rate Lewis far, far higher. He spent the bulk of his career beating high quality opponents in his division. He cleaned up in the UK, Europe and then fought constantly in the US which, like it or not, was what fighters had to do at the time to gain greater recognition.
Calzaghe, for the most part, seemed content to cruise against B and C level opposition in Wales. He only really put his head above the parapet at the end of his career, taking on the big names of his era when they had declined. Yes Lewis lost, but at least he tested himself constantly.
I guess if we are considering the very end of their careers the gulf is not as great, as Calzaghe in fairness did beat Jones and Hopkins (just). But beating two faded fighters he should have taken on years before does not trump a past it Tyson and a 'next generation ' Vitali - not to mention all the consistent work Lewis had done years before that. Context is important here, and the tortoise does not beat the hare just because he decided to run a bit faster at the end.

    Canadian.

He moved to Canada at a young age, learned to box there, represented Canada at the Olympics and sung their national anthem. He only started to embrace his birth place in his mid 20's as a pro to increase his fanbase. Lewis even admitted it himself ''When I turned pro, I had to go to the United Kingdom in order to pursue my career. The infrastructure to develop boxers wasn't in Canada then."

Context is important here, both had stellar careers and both deserve all the accla9m they get
Both were smart enough to call it quits on there careers and got out with all there faculties and made plenty of money along the way,so kudos to them both in my opinion

He’s obviously a great but it’s funny how Calzaghe was only able to overcome his fear of flying once Jones and Hopkins were way past their best and had a few losses.

So a guy born in and raised in London until the age of twelve and sent to Canada by his mother, is Canadian because he lived there for several years and represented Canada by way of obtaining Canadian citizenship is not a Brit but is Canadian?

He's a Brit who holds Canadian citizenship of Jamaican heritage. It's not that hard mate.

Eubank took the fight on just 11 days notice.

And he’d not fought at SMW in 2 years, or won there in 3 years.

    Nonsense.

    Lennox had the better career.

You rank on: Ability, overall resume, wins, accomplishments and longevity.

    That’s traditional ranking criteria.

It doesn’t matter if Lennox lost.

Lennox had great ability, and he chased down the best and has a superior resume.

Joe spent 75% of his career fighting non world class opposition.

He fought less than a dozen world level fighters in his entire 15 year career.

Most of them literally weren’t world level fighters.
