Provocative thread, but most people will feel this is ridiculous.
Fury was always vulnerable and had a very fragile chin for his size when tested early in his career and even later.
He recovers well and has a great heart in the ring, that is what he had, not a good chin.
Ali and Lewis have the best resumes of any heavyweight champions, clearly if one actually looks at their records.
Fury's resume is very sub par, I do not believe for one second he would last against Bowe or even Ray Mercer in their primes.
For me, imo here is who is left standing, and certainly there is no room for Fury at all anywhere near these guys. Ali>Louis>Lewis>Foreman>Marciano>Frazier>Holmes>Holyfield>Tyson>Bowe

    Who toyed with who?
Who got beat up? Nobody in that fight

Ali toyed with ernie terrel and stopped him
Roy toyed with many opponents before stopping.
    Naz toyed with many.

toying means hurting them while taunting them. this is the hurt business

You think Tyson Fury moves like SUGAR RAY LEONARD! That isn't just overrating Fury, that's a slap in the face to one of the greatest p4p fighters ever (Leonard).

He doesn't beat either imo, or Tyson and Holyfield

What age was Klitschko in that fight?

No, that fight was horrible and probably the worst showing from both of them. No version of Fury, or Wlad for that matter, would last a whole fight with Lennox.

I disagree, I think that was the best version of Fury and he'd outpoint Lewis as he did Klitschko.

The only reason why Fury changed his style in my opinion was to become more marketable, which if that's the case is a major testament to his raw ability.

How can you say that was the best version of Fury when nothing happened in that fight, the lack of action was disappointing, neither Fury or Wlad tried to win that fight.

Fury didn’t “change his style”, he just started to fight guys that made him fight.

Agreed it was the best version of Fury - not to watch, but the most effective.

Having said that, it's one of the very rare occasions where he didn't make any mistakes... And still only just snuck past old Wlad on a bad day.

I wouldn't give that Fury (the best Fury) much chance against the best of Wlad, and Lewis was another level again.

Where Fury would always fall down in any kind of H2H all-time comparisons is simply that he had two versions which both have flaws... But when people put him up as a H2H GOAT, they take the best of both styles and ignore all the flaws.

    The two versions were:
    - Slick points fighter with a clinching habit that helped him survive Wlad - major flaw: no power, no punchers chance, limited threat to keep opponents honest.
    - More aggressive, with more weight behind punches, and clinching to rescue from the situations he'd get himself in - major flaws: still mediocre rather than great power and FAR more mistakes and openings.

The former Fury ("Wlad Fury") didn't have the power to keep ATG's honest and would only stand a chance if he avoided mistakes and didn't get caught - both of which are big ifs for him.

The latter Fury ("kronk Fury" of Wilder 2) held more threat but was much sloppier and would've struggled on cards against many ATG's whilst still lacking the power to cause major issues against guys with proper chins.

The very best attributes of Fury didn't, and couldn't, occur together - he was NEVER a slick points fighter with decent pop in his punches... And that's why he's overrated as an ATG proposition.

“when nothing happened in that fight”

    You’re a kid.

A literal transition occurred from one heavyweight champion to the next.

He does have a chance in my opinion. Not saying he would but Lewis and Ali weren't exactly destroying all there opponents.

They weren't destroying all their opponents because they fought much more tougher opposition than Fury.

Ali fought over 30 ranked Heavyweights.

    Lewis fought 13 ranked Heavyweights

And Fury fought 4 ranked Heavyweights.

I'm sure if Lewis or Ali had Fury's opposition they'd barely lose a round and Fury's lucky he hasn't got atleast 4 or 5 losses on his record already.

Fury would never fight them until they were shot.
