Cruz is a good lad.

 

Good cards. Unbelievably competitive rounds, but his quality of shot was better down the stretch.

 

Cruz gets the nod. Good decision

 

That was a satisfying appetizer. Main course has a lot to live up to.

 

It was the correct score. Fierro not getting knocked out doesn't win him fight. He was eating power punches like they were candy. Landing nothing of substance back.

 

Sadly I think that’s true. His true peak was when he fought Tank. He hasn’t been as good since.

 

It wad a very entertaining fight, but I wanted to see more from Cruz. I appreciate that both went all out, but as a fan I'm disappointed that Cruz couldn't dominate a flawed fighter like Fierro.

 

We still have Figueroa vs Fulton 2 to look forward to which I think should be almost as good.

Ward-Gatti were MAB-Morales 1 compared to Cruz-Fierro.

 

He really hasn't.

 

Well that was quite something. Maybe I'm ok with an "Aztec Warrior" novelty belt - only for guys of Mexican background who are statistically proven to give and take a colossal amount of punches. There's probably something to be said for being the toughest Mexican, even if not the best boxer.

 

They don't have the chin to give it their all. There is a reason why it's so complicated to make fights with them.
