Canelo is old now. I clearly stated that a YOUNGER Canelo wouldve beaten Benavidez but I no longer think Canelo can. Benavidez wouldn't hurt Canelo but there's just too much volume and Canelo doesnt throw enough himself anymore[/QUOTE] Agree 100%. I believe the reason Benevidez fought him was the fact the kid only had 11 fights, if he had say 22 under his belt it'd have been different.
Benavidez is less effective against bigger opposition than he had at 168 but Canelo`s short reach would suit him better.
He is in his physical prime and now has a lot of experience under his belt. There is no point in waiting for that perfect moment.
Canelo fanboys are pathetic. They'll say any old trash to make Benavidez look bad, and deflect from the fact that Canelo hasn't fought a serious opponent since Bivol 3 years ago while Benavidez in the same timespan has voluntarily been taking on dangerous fighters. That's the only reason someone would make an idiotic thread like this.
Yep agree, and stop parading about with those paper belts. You have won nothing until you have beaten either, or both of those 2 warriors.
I think he can beat both. Not saying he will, but I don’t see a reason he couldn’t. He is obviously technically on their level, seems to have the chin for the weight, and has the power to hurt them enough to get respect. Morrel can bang and he landed his shots, but didn’t slow the monster down. Neither Bivol nor Beterbiev are going to outwork him, so they need to hurt him bad or be way more accurate than him. And that’s a tall order, because his connect percentage is very high.
Now taking the 0 of a tough young champ is seen as a step down? No matter who he beats at 175 , if it is not Bivol or Betwrbiev, we will see this type of thread. Even if he does , mark my work, we will see past their prime thread.
