Doesn't Bakole have to fight Ajagba first?

Im also surprised anyone would be surprised that Joshua would take a hard fight.

Hes either fought or signed to fight everyone in his generation worth fighting

But it is still a good fight for AJ should he get past Bakole.

This fight doesn’t make sense to me, but I’d watch it for sure.

I keep laughing to myself everytime I see this thread

Hilarious that some people still actually believe in AJ. Bakole is going to brutalize AJ. Bakole & Dubious brutalize him worse than Fury due to their power. Sure Bakole isn't the slickest but he's better than people realize...unless he has a real off night but don't see it. Bakole does also tend to fight to the level of his opponent, he can be really really lazy but when he's switched on he's a killer. He does come fat to fights also if not given enough time to train. Anderson is a tough cookie and handled his beating well. AJ won't.

In some ways, it might be quite a wise one...

Wilder's a busted flush - the hype is completely gone and there's no real credit to be gained there now, the excuses would come out straight away "he's shot", "would've been different in his prime", etc etc.

Bakole on the other hand is at the peak of his hype - if you're trying to build, or rebuild, a reputation then what you want most is someone who's hyped beyond their achievements... That way you get a reliably winnable fight and yet get the credit for it, too.

The spanner in the works comes in if Joshua comes in with the wrong gameplan again, and/or gets drawn into a war that doesn't suit him... At his best, he boxes safely and finds openings for the big punch mid-late on (which isn't the most exciting but it's sensible tactics) but with his confidence lacking, it looks like he loses that self-confidence to wait for the later openings and leaves himself a bit too open a bit too early - can Bakole exploit that?
Maybe, but unless Joshua is very declined indeed, it's levels beyond anyone Martin's fought before.

I think it's quite sensible matchmaking - Wilder can wait, if there's any need to boost the ducking frauds bank balance at all.

Aj hopefully gets flattened by Bakole. It's no secret I don't like AJ and rate a prime fury much higher, but facts are facts. Fury wants no part of Joshua and Aj is still taking challenges

I don't like AJ either, and I'd be as happy as you to see him get flattened... But you're absolutely correct here, Fury is the one who doesn't want the smoke and AJ is taking decent enough fights as he pretty much always has.

We've been over resumes and who'd have been better at peak enough times, so I'll leave that alone.

Definitely something about Aj frightens him. Even after Dubois clubbed Aj senseless, Fury still won't step up

I don't think he ever planned to fight Joshua. Had he beaten Usyk,he would retired claiming he doesn't need Joshua and already beat the guy who beat AJ twice

I don't think Fury is scared of him, but like khan with Brook and hatton with Witter, his ego can't handle losing to a fellow Brit and he knows it would likely be a knockout

Khan only fought Brook when both were washed and he was paid very handsomely

Although I'm not dying for Aj v Fury like previous years, I still have to call it a clear duck from Fury
If Aj couldn't punch? Fury would have signed that contract the second after usyk was declared the winner in December

He just doesn't fancy it and imo it appears he never has
