People of England: who had the better career closeout, Calzaghe or Lennox?

Well for whatever reason the pavlik fight didn't happen and he basically said it ain't worth fighting Jones he said it in his book also but the thing the changed his mind was probably money like I said earlier in this thread .

 

Calzaghe said he didn't do rematches after the Reid fight, but then went on to rematch the mighty Mario Veit lol.

 

But you can surely understand the criticism for that.

 

And after he’d beaten him in a single round.

What a joke that was.

 

Khol won the purse bids and offered stay af home Joe a whopping payday to fight in ze father land, the first time Calzaghe ko'd Veit in the first round, the second time he lasted until round 6 , easy money , why wouldn't he go fight him . Boxing = Business .

 

So if you were him you'd turn massive money down and stay home..

 

Sure criticise all you like but money talks & bull**** walks , it's always struck me as odd that ANY fighter gets slagged out because he didn't fight fighter A and fought fighter B instead by the blokes sitting on their fat arses knoshing on chips and beer , , boxing is a very dangerous business with the threat that any boxer is one punch away from having his livelihood being taken away from them or worse .

 

He should never have still been the WBO champ at that time. And that was after he’d fought Mkrtchyan, Salem and Ashira. Three non world level guys in a row.

And you wonder why he gets criticised.

The man bragged that he didn’t do rematches.

The man came out and said that Tarver, Pavlik and Dawson, had done nothing to warrant a fight with him. He said that they didn’t excite him.

This coming from the same guy who fought Mario Veit twice.

The criticism of his career is absolutely justified.

If you say that fighting a guy is completely pointless, as they’re completely shot, but then you go ahead and fight him regardless, then of course you’re going to get criticised for that.

And that criticism is absolutely justified.

 

Well of course in Roys case the criticism was justified personally I thought it was cringe when he started showboating during the fight but I also understand why he set up the fight after Roy asked him for it in the post Hopkins fight presser , criticism of Joe calzaghe isn't why I'm posting the reason why I'm posting is some of you fail to recognise his achievements in the sport, I'm not all about defending all of his decisions as I wasn't the one making them.

 

He's got loads of others too. There's at least thirty.

 

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest mate .I just keep placing them on ignore , it's one thing debating a topic with someone who can back up their crappola and then there's the other guys .
