Yep. I don't think he is winning either of those fights and I don't think it will be remotely close. Good win last night but a few things: 1) We still don't know how good Morrell really is. Obviously a good fighter but is he elite?? 2) Morrell fought right into Benevidezs wheelhouse. Bivol is NEVER EVER going to do that, and in the case of Beterbiev, David isn't going to match him power for power. In both fights he will not be coming forward. 3) He clearly is no "monster" but a top level fighter. I guess the real question is if the winner of Bivol/Beterbiev even wants to fight him. Had Benevidez smashed Morrell it would have been an easier sell. Now he got a really good UD but got dropped. Will that be good enough to make this financially viable?
So he has enough power and skill to have arguably beaten Beterbiev..... buuuut he won't be able to keep Benevidez honest who has yet to DROP anyone at 175 ffs.
OMG...lol So David has been floored twice by smaller and less talented guys. You have a short memory: This content is protected
So because Benavidez hasn`t dropped a light heavy that means Bivol can hurt him? That doesn`t make any sense.
If I was DB I would hope Bivol beats Beterbiev. Think he's in with a shot against Bivol even though I'd favour Bivol, but can't see him having any luck against Beterbiev unless Beterbiev ages drastically, which is a possibility, though. Still, DB vs Beterbiev would be a hell of a fight.
Benavidez claims he beat up Bivol in sparring. He kind of alluded that Bivol would be an easy fight for him which I also almost believed until it was revealed for the Gvozdyk fight that Benavidez is only 6'0 feet tall not 6'2 which he was listed as previously. Bivol is also listed 6'0 tall so he wouldn't tower over him like I thought he would and if hes not bigger than Bivol I'm struggling to think of what he actually does better than Bivol? Bivol edges him out in every category does he not?
benavidez is better in the single category thats going to be the difference in the fight, activity. it is not in bivols nature to match the amount of punches that david will be throwing. he cant match david on the inside, its just not his style, and thats where david does his best work. so he will have to keep the fight at a distance. great plan. that was also the plan of every other opponent who fancied himself a boxer. if there is indeed a difference in levels between these 2, bivol should be able to dictate the fight. if theyre same level, bivol is in for a rough night. we shall see, if and when bivol beats beterbiev.
Lyndon arthur a domestic level fighter hurt bivol to the body and made him stagger back. Imagine what Benavidez would do to that body, and what happens to Bivol's speedy movement after that.
Beterbiev hits Bivol to the body several times. It was Bivols high gaurd that blocked shots, he still got tagged downstairs. Plant bagged about 4 rounds, the writings on the wall, Benavidez bout to get shut down like Zurdo
