There was already a huge thread on this.

As far as I can see, this is only an IBA thing, which means that it is totally meaningless. I have seen nothing to indicate that the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO and Boxrec know or care.

Once a fighters is popped, his legacy takes an automatic across the board hit. But trying to retroactively negate all of those fights is stupid, and I don't see any evidence that this is happening beyond a corrupt Russian amateur fighting league. Could be wrong.

Except for the part where he failed drug tests, across several years, before fights against Takam, against Wilder, against Stiverne and against Duhaupas.

Witch hunts didn't usually catch "actual witches."

They were people accused of being witches ... who WEREN'T. ;)

A witch hunt would be accusing Povetkin and punishing him ... when he was innocent and hadn't taken anything.

    See the difference?

Exactly what it is. Povetkin took no more PED’s throughout his career than Holyfield, Toney and Briggs did. Yet he’s getting ****ing years worth of hard work and results overturned.

So why punish him NOW and not then?

It’s disgusting the way THEY have targeted Povetkin. Dude was an awesome fighter and carried himself with class. Not a loudmouth woman beater that brought nasty energy with him wherever he went.

I'm sure Carlos Takam wishes they'd punished him then.

Povetkin took banned PEDs and got caught. He did it.

Not sure what you're arguing. Better late than never. (Although, again, I'm sure Takam wishes it had been sooner.)
