So? What those meassures proves, and most of them are not true. Liston wore bigger clothes and shoulder extensions to look bigger, same goes for his reach which is questionable.
It proves Liston had a substantially bigger torso than Marciano. Where can we see Liston wearing bigger clothes? In which photos? What is your source for him wearing shoulder extensions?
Louis was 6"1½ as a 21 year old. Was 6"2 as he matured. Here he is next to 6"2½ Ali https://imgur.com/a/ali-louis-KYHsaKT
It was known for Liston to wear shoulder extensions, even in documentaries of him. Torso? It was stated that Williams was 6ft2 or even 6ft3 but after seeing him with Satterfield who was 5ft9 or 5ft 10 I am suspicious in measures of that time.
Don’t encourage him Ferg! Man size is broadly defined and I’m not sure where Seamus is ultimately heading.
But for his height (about 6’1”, maybe even as low as 6’ 1/2”) Liston’s stats read as those of a very large/big man otherwise and the vision shows he carried very densely packed muscle. Sonny was big but he opted for the towels under his robe also - which I think is pretty obvious per the clip provided here. For Louis, I’ve variously read 6’1”, 6’1 1/2”, 6’1 3/4” and 6”2”. He seemed to settle on the 6’2” stat for the latter of his career. I’d guess 6’1 3/4” to be closest to the truth. Joe wasn’t as small as many would have him. Joe was a very well built guy with notably well muscled thighs and calves - that latter physical attributes no doubt making no mean contribution to his kinetic chain and consequential power. On film in the ring, Max Baer appears to have that much more advantage in height over Louis than Ali did - strange since Baer, like Ali, was also listed as being 6’2 1/2”.
Well, yes, Louis was taller than Liston and might have gained weight after retiring, but he still seems less massive than Liston.
