Except for the part where he took banned PEDs before fights against four different guys. And brutally KOed two of them (at the current count) while juiced to the gills.

You guys keep leaving that part out.

They caught a guilty guy and punished him ... far too late I might add.

Sounds like he got off easy.

Ok so now there will be an asterisk next to his results on Wikipedia. Or a footnote or something. Big ****ing deal.

Hey can Joshua have all his fights from the first Ruiz fight onwards revoked or disqualified from the record books? That’s means he remains still unbeaten

Like I said, he got off easy.

Not sure what all the squawking is about. Along with the Takam failed test, he should've been banned for life after 2016, when he couldn't pass a drug test for any fight all year.

He wasn't. He still got to continue his career, earn millions, receive all the accolades. If he was on a sports team, or a running team, he probably would have to pay some money back to the team owners or promoters of events.

It's not like he has to forfeit all those wins AND pay back the promoters all the purse money they gave him, too.

So the following twelve bouts are thereby expunged?

Carlos Takam, Mike Pérez, Mariusz Wach, Johann Duhaupas, Andrii Rudenko, Christian Hammer, David Price, Anthony Joshua (L), Hughie Fury, Michael Hunter (D), Dillian Whyte I and II (L).

Honestly that hurts Whyte and Joshua more than it hurts Povetkin.

Dubble...I don't think you are exactly wrong about this one. But let me bounce a couple of things off of you. I am not going to contend....just say what you will.

    1) As I said, to me, there is no need to erase the fights, because any juicer has an asterix next to EVERY fight.

    2) It is dumb to completely erase the fights, because if lessens the achievements of the guys who beat him. Joshua and Whyte deserve some credit for beating him, and if you take away the 12 fights, the credit comes to much less. Even Hunter deserves his credit for the draw.

    3) What do you think about what I am saying that this appears to be only an IBA thing? Thus far, I see no indication that the organizations that matter recognize this.

Just curious. Again, we don't have a wide disagreement, here.

    His losses get no change

    His wins become NC

The draw will also be NC'd

Holyfield was clearly on peds for much of his career? Should we throw out all his wins post 1992

Given rampant per use one would think it would be a complete non issue

There is no singular, global governing body for boxing like there are in some sports/leagues. So there was never going to be a universally recognized punishment that everyone would agree on.

Povetkin cheated multiple times in multiple years. He eventually got caught.

One body, at least, chose to punish him in the only way it could. At minimum, now it's documented.

Fans taking victory laps because EVERY body in the sport didn't react the same are just fans being fans. Every rating and governing body was never going to react the same way on this. They don't react the same way about anything.

People who choose to overlook the punishment will. Those who choose not to won't.

He essentially got away with it. His second banning came long after he retired. But it's documented for historians now.
