Joshua was always protected, now he needs big fights

What kind of fool puts two different separate ingredients in two different cooking pots and expect the same meal?

I would rank fury's highest wins as greater, but he fought more bums and has been ducking Aj for years and still ducking him

I like Fury more and always favoured him in that fight, but he's obviously not as confident t, so will retire to duck the challenge

As shown in my post - he wasn't. It's hard to fight most top competition of your era and be "protected". If you want to talk about protected fighters, you have Deontay Wilder, the poster boy for a witness protection programme.

Why is Fury ducking Joshua? I can think of one obvious reason

He's scared of losing to a bum bodybuilder? He already lost to a older and smaller gap tooth middleweight rabbit.

He definitely doesn't feel confident or he would sign?

I admit I was wrong, it's clear who was ducking who all along. If Joshua had 7/10 punch power Fury would be All over it

    @MaccaveliMacc
    Has answered you before me
Which dispels what you were insinuating

    Tell me

As Joshua couldn't challenge Fury, who was he meant to challenge other than the #1 rated HW?

You are indicating that you are giving Fury more of a pass and yet he only fought one of the above fighters you mentioned

Fury's title defences are Wilder, Whyte and Chisora

In that Wilder was coming off a ko loss, Whyte had lost to an even older Povetkin that you sited and Chisora was on a run of 1-3 in his previous 4 fights

Could you not ask why Fury never went after Joshua except for when offering a quick notice fight when Joshua was coming off two losses
Just imagine if Joshua did the same
Saying something along the lines of you have just fought and fighting fit after the sparring session with Usyk

    I wouldn't like it

    By who?

To be fair, Fury signed to fight AJ in 2021, AJ signed to fight Fury then too, so I think they weren't ducking each other, just the timing was never right.

I don't think Fury would have honoured it
I think he would have feigned retirement. He's scared of losing to a British fighter

It felt like he was glad he was fighting Wilder again, not AJ.

I hate that a guy shows so much guts in a ring, can be such a quack out of it

Climbing off the canvas in his first fight with Wilder was legendary. Coming through that 3rd fight and recovering from the usyk smashing in round 9 also showed great bottle

Hell, coming back from 30 stone to win a title was also great. Fury has done some great things, but WAY too much smoke and mirrors otherwise.

No disrespect to Aj, but I don't think he has the talent of Fury other than power. Sure he has the discipline etc, but he has done the best he could. In contrast Fury has ducked and dodged too often and could have been greater imo

I think Fury is a sensible fighter who likes to be sure things are right for him even if that means delaying until things feel right
Of course that is all just my opinion and not factual

Fury didn't have the rematch with Wladimir
Fury didn't have the immediate rematch with Wilder after the tough first fight
    The third fight was delayed
The fight with Usyk didn't happen after he beat Whyte or after he beat Chisora and was delayed after that
He decided on the Chisora fight rather than the Makhmudov fight
This is only my opinion, but I felt he liked being the away fighter

He offered Joshua the fight at quick notice with a deadline when Joshua was coming off 2 losses to Usyk
    I guess timing is important

I think if Joshua looks poor in his next fight then think he (Fury) may look to take the fight soon after where I think he may be fighting fit and in training ready to go

I heard that Joshua may be facing Bakole next in another tough fight, which can take its toll

I'm not sure who Fury would face atm as I seem to recall something about him not wanting to fight for the IBF title (Dubois), Parker he is not likely to be fighting
Looks like Zhang and Kabayel are tied up, possibly Bakole and Joshua as well
So I'm not sure who he would face

    That is correct
Though wasn't Fury contractually bound to have to face Wilder at that time?

Fury has been amazing coming back from heavy knockdowns and showed tremendous bravery and toughness
Really is a top HW imo
