Yes I'll admit I enjoyed the wilder Fury fights, not had anything like that really since the Bowe v Holyfield trilogy. And Usyk has made things interesting.
heavyweight boxing was boring from 2004-2015 with the exception of a handful of fights. From 2016-2019, it was solid with some quality fights. Ironically the man (Wlad) who ruined heavyweight boxing gave a great fight vs Joshua before retiring. 2020 up until now has been great. Wilder-Fury 2 and Wilder-Fury 3 were immensely entertaining, Usyk-Joshua 1 and Usyk-Joshua 2 are masterclasses in boxing. Usyk-Fury 1 was a great fight. Not to mention the other guys.
I see what you mean mate. Vitali and Wladimir were good and for a while the two best heavyweights in the world but unfortunately, not too spectacular to watch. Although not of the quality of the seventies or even the nineties,I've enjoyed watching heavyweight boxing over the last ten years or so because of us Brits having a few of the top guys fighting for titles.
Wlad´s reign was one main factor killing my interest on modern boxing. A long, boring, maniipulated and scripted snoozefest of a period where nothing truly happened. I got so far away from HW stuff that I didn't even bother with the whole Fury circus. I looked at it like it was some kind of WWWF stuff. Nowadays things are looking better with Usyk and the up and coming contenders, but to be honest I don't pay much attention anymore.
Agreed Stevie. Definitely being the case since Lennox came along and flew the flag for the British, we've done okay since then mate.lol
