Johann Orsolics signing to fight Eddie Perkins when he already had a signed contract to fight Jose Napoles for the welterweight title.

I haven't watched that in well over a decade (but definitely remember Morales doing a head scratcher move).

I forgot, somehow, how much bigger Morales was than Pacquiao, too.

once Morales went southpaw, Pacquiao went right-hook instantly. Good IQ

Jersey Joe Walcott did his little dipsy-doodle ‘Jersey Shuffle’ or whatever he called that pose-and-walk-around move in his second fight with Joe Louis.

Louis was so amused that he whacked Walcott with a wicked right hand, from which he never recovered before soon after being KO’d.

Sometimes when you bake a cake, you get burned.

Ballsy for sure to do that in front of a guy like Louis who was carrying a pair of howitzers, but not what I’d call smart … especially for a guy with Walcott’s usual ring IQ.

For those who haven’t seen the sequence or don’t recall it, you can see it here in slow motion starting around 13:15/20. Walcott never recovered from the right hand that landed while he was walking his cake. (Seen at full speed it’s one sequence where Joe lands the right, pounces on the opportunity and fires away until he ends it … you can see Walcott buckle from that first shot, but in slow motion it make it seem like the KO came much longer after the initial blow than it actually did).

Ray was also shutting out Duran in their rubber match when he decided to trade and all he got for his efforts was a cut above his eye and a busted lip.
