Over the past week I've watched Chiquita Gonzalez against Rolando Pasqua and Gonzalez against Melchor Cob Castro. Here's where we fill the gap.

This fight's a real conundrum. Pasqua certainly wasn't the same fighter who stopped Chiquita Gonzalez, but was in the fight. Something happened between the 8th and 9th rounds because he went from winning the 8th on my card to tapering off and then finally in the 10th I was waiting for him to even throw a punch for a long period whilst continually looking over at his corner. what was going on?? For a finish he just turned and quit in his corner. Does anyone know what happened here?

 

What are your thoughts on Cobb Castro?

 

I thought he was pretty good. Small in the Miguel Canto mold, kept a nice tight guard, was mobile and kept to a game plan. More boxer but could hit sharply when he wanted to. Also had a very active career.

 

I’d have respected him more if he had adopted ‘Corn’ as his nickname: Melchor Corn Cob Castro.
