It's nothing to do with nationality @JohnThomas1 has never showed any bias towards a fighter because of nationality.

You are simply either trolling to get a reaction or just have the blinders because you're so biased you've actually convinced yourself into believing that Nelson beat Fenech 8-4.

Because i can tell you right now no one in their right mind who knows a single thing about boxing without an agenda or biased opinion could conjure up an 8-4 scorecard for Nelson that's simply an outrageous statement.

If you made a poll and asked every single member on this forum to score the fight i guarantee the only person on this forum that would have Nelson winning is you.

And i think that simply shows that this is more of a "you" problem.

And for all the talk of only "Aussies" thinking Fenech vs Nelson 1 is a robbery.

Here's some scorecards from all different members that are definitely not Australian and they all have it comfortably for Fenech as do 98 percent of boxing fans.

Jeff Fenech vs Azumah Nelson 1

    Rd. Jeff : Nelson (total)
    1. 10 : 9 (10-9)
    2. 10 : 9 (20-18)
    3. 9 : 10 (29-28)
    4. 9 : 10 (38-38)
    5. 10 : 9 (48-47)
    6. 10 : 9 (58-56)
    7. 10 : 9 (68-65)
    8. 10 : 9 (78-74)
    9. 9 : 10 (87-84)
    10. 10 : 9 (97-93)
    11. 10 : 9 (107-102)
    12. 10 : 9 (117-111)

Excellent fight, Nelson fighting off the ropes was excellent and Fenech was an animal. Oh and this decision was horrendous.

    Jeff Fenech vs Azumah Nelson

    Official Verdict: Draw

    My Verdict: Fenech UD

    Nelson won rounds: 1, 2, 9

    Fenech won rounds: 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12

    Draw: 6

Jesus what a robbery under no circumstances could I ever see this as a draw, Fenech from the 3rd round onwards was on the offensive landing much more telling blows way more often. For a large portion of the fight Nelson was forced into the ropes where he stayed getting bombed and landing mostly pitty pat punches in return. Fenech made Nelson buckle badly about 3 times, particularly in the last round. Even if they had an extremely conservative ref who decided to take points away from Fenech for going at Nelson after the bell and spear tackling him it's still a clear dec win for Fenech the crowd were chanting "BULL****" for a reason. Awesome action packed fight however one of the best ever.

Fenech saying to Don King "**** YOU!" was ace.

Azumah Nelson v Jeff Fenech 1

Tough fight in which Fenech gradually wore Nelson down over the course of the fight after a decent start from Azumah.

Hard to know how true Nelson's claims of malaria were but judging by what happened in the rematch, they seem believable. Still, Fenech had to feel hard done by. It was clear enough on my card.

    1 10-9 (good start)
    2 10-9 (close)
    3 9-10 (close again)
    4 10-9
    5 9-10
    6 9-10
    7 9-10
    8 10-9 (close)
    9 9-10
    10 9-10
    11 9-10
    12 9-10

    Nelson 112-116 Fenech

Azumah Nelson - Jeff Fenech I

    Round 1: 10-9 Nelson
    Round 2: 10-9 Nelson
    Round 3: 10-9 Fenech
    Round 4: 10-9 Fenech
    Round 5: 10-9 Fenech
    Round 6: 10-9 Fenech
    Round 7: 10-9 Fenech
    Round 8: 10-9 Fenech
    Round 9: 10-9 Fenech
    Round 10: 10-9 Fenech
    Round 11: 10-9 Fenech
    Round 12: 10-9 Fenech

    118-110 Fenech. Terrible robbery

    Nelson V Fenech 1

    1. 10-9 Nelson. Wouldn’t argue if someone went Fenech but I thought Nelson landed a couple hard clean shots especially one with like 10 seconds left. Fenech put on the pressure. Very close, even round but I try not to score even rounds if possible.

    2. 10-9 Nelson. Same as round 1 although I’d like to see more punches from Nelson. Fenech high workrate but hit all arms and gloves for the most part.

    3. 10-9 Fenech. Seems the pressure is starting to work. Now landing cleaner punches and starting to put Nelson against the ropes. Nelson starting to hit gloves but a few definitely got through. Against super close round. All 3 rounds extremely close so far.

    4. 10-9 Fenech. Pressure. Pressure. Pressure by Fenech. Aggression wins round for me.

    5. 10-9 Nelson. Nelson spent the round against the ropes but felt he landed a lot more pop on his punches and cleaner eye catching punches. Could see others liking Fenech in that round due to optics of Nelson against the ropes and Fenech throwing a lot but didn’t land enough clean imo.

    6. 10-9 Fenech. Nelson looks lethargic. Malaria claims possibly substantiated imo. He looks sluggish and tired and just doesn’t seem to be himself. Not Fenechs fault. He actually outboxed Nelson this round.

    7. 10-9 Fenech. Effective aggression. Landed cleaner. Threw more. Backed Nelson against ropes. Clear Fenech round imo.

    8. 10-9 Nelson. Still looking tired but moved and jabbed for 2/3rds of the round somewhat effectively. Fenech had a couple moments around the 2 minute mark against the ropes but not enough to outweigh Nelson’s moving and jabbing the rest of the round.

    9. 10-9 Fenech. Fenech stays applying pressure. Throws more punches. Not accurate but Nelson lands nothing of note at all.

    10. 10-9 Fenech. Fenech was all over Nelson this round. Nelson seemed more lively at the start, likely due to his longer rest period for the mysteriously vanishing mouthpiece, but Fenech just smothered him. Clear Fenech round.

    11. 10-9 Fenech. Wash rinse repeat. Nelson is throwing wildly and missing. Not getting his gloves back in time after missing. All Fenech in round 11.

    12. 10-9 Fenech. Again, piles on the pressure. Ends the round/fight like a man who wants that title.

    Final Score: 116-112 Fenech.
    Rounds: 8-4.

IMO, this is a CLEAR Fenech win and I’m a huge Nelson fan. 116-112 can look or sound close to some, but honestly, 116-112 is being generous to Nelson. Could even be 117-111 or 118-110. I would honestly say that Fenech was hard done by the judges. On a scale of 1-10, with one being a totally fair decision, and ten being an absolute robbery, I’d call this a 7.5 or an 8. What do you all think?

The fight you scored 116-112 was voted robbery of the year in most mags. It was a disgrace, as is your scorecard.

Nelson didn't literally separate Fenech from his senses. Fenech was still on his feet. Have you not seen the fight despite all your claims?

I enjoyed the rubber match, which was indeed a rubber match given only 1 person in the world scored the first fight for Zumah.

Well one of the official judges had the same score as I did which goes to show I am actually more knowledgeable than most when it comes to how fights are scored. As the late Mickey Duff said the quality of Nelson work was better and more accurate. Throwing a lot of punches and missing the target does not score points. Anyway the rematch confirms who the clear better fighter was as the scorecards were not needed.

As I said many don’t know how to actually score fights. Nelson won this fight clearly in my opinion 116-112.

Many scored the first fight for Nelson including one of the official judges. 1,000 years from now it will be recorded forever Nelson retained his title and in the rematch he put Fenech’s light out. As the referee stopped the fight Fenech collapsed because he out.:

I would have liked to see Nelson unify with Brian Mitchell. That would have been interesting.

Azumah was a great boxer - no doubt about it. The greatest African fighter ever.

It shows just how great Whitaker was who handled Nelson with ease. I don't think Azumah even won a round in that fight. Keep in mind, he only had 13 fights when he fought Sanchez, and it was life and death for Sanchez in that fight. A much more seasoned Nelson was schooled by Whitaker.

People that need to give themselves credit for validation when no one else does it tells alot about someone's personality.

If you're the only one on planet earth that agrees with the terrible scorecard of 116-112 then as I said its a "you" issue you simply are not objective end of.

Judges get it wrong all the time whether it's bias, poor scoring, or corruption.

I suppose you agree with 118-110 for Canelo over Golovkin aswell ?

Or the 115-113 scorecard for Holyfield in the Lewis fight ? 1 judge couldn't explain how she somehow scored the 5th round for Holyfield who got battered along the ropes for over a minute and was outlanded 4 punches to 1 in the round.

I certainly know how to much better than you that’s for sure. Interesting how my tends to tally with the officials those paid to judge.
