https://boxrec.com/en/ratings?r[role]=box-pro&r[sex]=M&r[status]=&r[division]=&r[country]=&r_go=&offset=0 This is BoxRec P4P ranking of boxers spanning back as far as the 19th century including over 74,000 boxers. Found it interesting when I first saw this and the rankings do change from time to time.
1. Robinson, I'm fine with 2. McLarnin, should be way lower 3. Mayweather, should be way lower 4. Greb, I'd argue higher but I'm fine with 5. Monzon, wayyy lower 6. Armstrong, should be higher but I'm fine with 7. Leonard, no objections 8. Hagler, wayyy lower 9. Louis, I'd argue lower but I'm fine with 10. Ali, same as Louis 11. Napoles, should be way lower 12. Duran, I'm fine with 13. Chavez, way lower 14. Canelo, whoever put him there is on the spectrum 15. Gibbons, lower but it's a niche choice that I respect 16. Moore, I'd argue higher but I'm fine with 17. Oscar, whoever put him there is on the spectrum 18. Arguello, lower 19. Pacquiao, lower but not much of a problem 20. Tunney, same as Arguello 21. Jones, lower 22. Charles, should be wayyy higher 23. Ortiz, same as Mike Gibbons 24. Hopkins, should be way lower 25. Corbett III, same as Gibbons and Ortiz 26. Fields, way too high 27. Crawford, laughably high 28. Kid Lewis, also laughably high 29. Canzoneri, should be way higher 30. Holman Williams, no problem with 31. Loi, should be way lower 32. Rodriguez, also way lower 33. Barney Ross, should be way higher 34. Burley, I'm fine with 35. Lewis, wayyyyy too high 36. Walker, should be higher 37. Williams, I'm fine fine with 38. Britton, no objections 39. Ray Leonard, should be way higher 40. McCallum, should be lower 41. Inoue, laughably high 42. GGG, laughably high 43. Locche, laughably high 44. Hearns, I'm fine with 45. Thil, too high 46. Calzaghe, laughably high 47. Shade, laughably high 48. Griffith, should be higher 49. Cervantes, should be lower 50. Humez, laughably high Overall, horrible list.
Hagler is a king, a proper boxer....Leonard is a cowardly *****, a runner that doesn't stand to trade punches like real men do. Hagler > Leonard.
1. SRR - the undisputed GOAT 2. Greb 3. Armstrong 4. Langford 5. Pep 6. Mayweather 7. Duran 8. Hagler 9. Charles 10. Moore 11. Pacquiao 12. B. Leonard 13. Louis 14. RJJ 15. Hearns
Probably because the criteria for such lists are wholly arbitrary and entirely dependent on personal preferences.
It's really striking how few and lowly rated old world fighters are on this list. Manny at 19 is the first then you don't see another until Kid Lewis at 28. @ Langford = 100 @ Jofre 179 Wilde 254 Holy shiz, 258 for Gans? I'm dead over here. I am looking for Bob Fitzsimmons because IMO Bob is definitely a top 50 fighter from the old world and not seeing at all sent on a quest to find his rating. Above I saw some good ones but that kept happening so I stopped leaving a comment on it until I found Bob Along the way I noticed Chris Eubank Jr is a few pages worth of ranks higher than Sr. Fitzs? 618. 617 superior p4p fighters so says Boxrec. That's just crazy talk. But then again I did not see Barbados Walcott or Panama Gans yet.
Not fond of this list myself. Just to point out a couple of quick ones, While I rank Floyd Mayweather higher than a lot of people do there’s no way he belongs in the top three. And having Hagler at #8 but Ray Leonard down at #39 ? Ezzard Charles at 22 is too low also.
