The fight that remained in your memory the most.

Wladimir vs. Sanders, I was 12 years old at the time, my late grandfather commented on Sanders' thin legs, said he would be fast as a snake and beat Wladimir, I just laughed at that, giving Sanders no chance, it was a night I will never forget...

 

Ali v Foreman.

Not the most exciting fight,technically,but for Ali doing the seemingly impossible.

 

Lemieux was one of the boxers who got me into the sport, he was going against GGG and I was stumped by how outclassed he was.

 

Got to be Tyson-Berbick. First major fight I remember watching, started the Tyson years and the way Berbick kept trying to get back up and failing was unforgettable in itself.

 

JMM KTFO6 Pacquiao. Pretty devastated by the results till this day but it still was an incredible fight where both fighters were trying to look for the KO. A bitter sweet conclusion of an ATG rivalry.

Me being about 7 years old watching the 1997 Bite Of The Century. That was my very first boxing matching and first time seeing Tyson on TV. The whole room was screaming and freaking out. It's one of my strongest early memories. I can even remember what the brown carpet looked like and the hallway leading to the room full of those where other kids were playing.

When I was 5 years old, my Grandfather showed me a film he had of Joe Louis vs. Max Schmeling 2. I never forgot watching that, the total destruction Joe was capable of. I have seen many of the Joe louis fights, but that one has always been imprinted in my mind. Memory burn.

Of contemporary fights, George Foreman recapturing the Lineal Title from Michael Moorer sticks in my mind.

 

In the mid 70's I watched the Thrilla in Manila repeat on ABC's Wide World of Sports . Watched it with my dad, though I saw the toughness of both men
wasn't impressed with the skill level.
It wasn't enough to draw me away from my Bruce Lee Asian Martial arts love affair.
But then came 1979
And I watched Leonard vs Benitez live on TV.
That fight changed my entire perspective of the sport.
For the first time I saw the true beauty of boxing. I saw how technical the sport could be.
I've been a student, fan, participant, and teacher of the sport ever since.

 

Usyk - Fury 1 is the only fight I've seen live, I sat down with my little brother and watched the fight from start to finish as everything went down. I told him from the beginning, "Usyk is gonna win", and I was damn well right. Great fight, brought the undisputed championship back and strengthened my love of the sport. 8-4.

I look forward to seeing more historical fights as they unfold, and I'm very excited to see how landscape at heavyweight changes as old giants start to retire. Dubois, Bakole, Parker, whoever- I await the punch.
