It has great appeal and I would like to see it out of curiosity and also the potential to have a clearer winner or victory for either fighter. However, I don't usually admit this because it seems like the 15 round fight has such popular mythical appeal but as a very young kid when I first got hooked on boxing I did watch a few 15 rounders and I preferred the 12 round distance. Dudes really tired over 13,14 and 15 and fights from my viewpoint appeared to get sloppy. Like I said though, I was just a kid.

I think we'd see more stoppages in very high profile championship fights.

And, as a good consequence, it'd put to bed more of these ridiculous scorecards and their potential fight scoring biases that we do see too often.

Canelo is a 12 round fighter. Benevidez and crawford would have no problem doing 15 rounds.

Should bring them back at least for undisputed fights

Always preferred 15 rounders to 12 in championship fights

Crawford has no ability to stop Canelo, but he can outbox him, while Canelo has an ability to hurt and stop Crawford, so the longer it goes there's more chance of Crawford getting hurt before the final bell. So in that scenario a 15 round match would favor Canelo, given that Crawford's only chance would be to win a decision.

As for Benavidez vs Canelo, at 175, as for who a 15 round limit would favor, well, one could expect Canelo to gas harder than Benavidez and thus Benavidez would be fresher late in the fight. But on the other hand, even a gassed Canelo could still land a fight changing punch late that could turn the tables, if lets say Benavidez is ahead on the cards due to work rate, I could see Canelo pushing for a stoppage in rounds 13-15 in that scenario with Benavidez in survival mode thinking he's ahead on the cards.

I think Canelo would be very willing to agree to 15 rounds against Benavidez if his goal is to stop Benavidez, which he might not be able to do over only 12 rounds, but maybe could push for a late stoppage in rounds 13-15. In a 12 round limit, I could see Benavidez outworking Canelo and winning a decision, but Canelo would be more dangerous late than Benavidez, especially to the body. 15 rounds would give Canelo more time to invest in the body and see Benavidez slow down as a result of body shots before the final ball.

This is just my take, but I think we can both agree that Canelo vs Benavidez would be a great example of a fight that would make sense for being 15 rounds.

    Would love this.

Reality is there should NOT be an EVEN number of rounds and undisputed fights at 15 rounds would be dope AF...adds another layer of impressive in my mind

Bivol vs Beterbiev should be a 15 rounder.

Do you think if fans and the sports media make it a story and ask Turki and the fighters about making it 15 rounds, do you think it could be changed to 15 during fight week? After the first fight, it was clear that 15 rounds were needed, as 12 just wasn't enough to clearly show who was better. It would be only fitting for the rematch to go 15.

Isn’t the WBA the original World Title? Then they should act like it and make their Word Title fights 15 rounds.

It needs to come with a time adjustment where no new time is being added.

Even if fans prefer 12 the 12 rounds creates more controversial decisions and is worse from an administrative standpoint.

Easy to forget that there was valid safety concerns for cuting back to just 12 rounds. 15 rounders are gone
