It seems since the AJ fight people have forgotten that Ngannou went a full 10 rounds with Fury, knocked him down to the canvas and only lost on what many deemed shady judging scores.

AJ was in his prime or near it and took the fight very seriously, as it was part of his route to get back to the title. Wilder has looked very washed his last few fights and is only looking for some final cash out matches, so like it or not, him vs Ngannou is a 50/50 fight.

I never understand this propaganda, bronze medal and has never just come in swinging like an uneducated mindless slugger.

Granted, WHEN, he’s got a guy hurt, he SOMETIMES, does throw loads of haymakers. But they aren’t mindless as it usually gets the job done.

No, he's not... Or at least, part of that is wrong and part of it is overly simplistic.

He's not a non-stop pressure fighter - he lacks the footwork and fundamentals to dominate fights.

And yes, he's not a mindless slugger - at his best (or should that be: against the right level of limited competition) he finds the right opportunity and then pretty much over commits, recklessly aggressively and very much swings for the fences.

In truth, Wilder's biggest problem in terms of being taken seriously is he never beat any particularly good fighters - Ortiz was easily his best, but was old, not very well proven and the referee still had to help Wilder win the first bout.

Call me crazy, but Wilder can no longer pull the trigger and I may favour Francis. Unless the fear of Francis forces him to fire the right early

I think big frank will bully him in the clinch and knock him out. Wilder looks beyond shot now

Francis Ngannou seems like he’s really determined to make a name for himself in boxing now. Facing someone like Deontay Wilder would be an amazing spectacle, given their power and knockout ability. Ngannou has the raw strength, but Wilder's unpredictability and power make it a real question mark. It’s definitely a fight I’d love to see! Do you think Ngannou can handle Wilder's unorthodox style in the ring?

I would MUCH rather see him fight Jake Paul.

People clearly don't watch Wilder fights. He doesn't just spam punches from round 1. He was actually a bit tentative at times and would prefer mid or long range to pick his shots.

Given his age, it's entirely possible.

The other possibility is he just hits a hard wall the moment he's:
    A) Denied space to swing
    B) Fighting someone who's not a journeyman or mediocre gatekeeper.

Nothing crazy about it - if Francis can deny him space to swing by marching forward and pushing him onto the back foot where he's useless? There's a decent chance he knocks Wilder out.

I've always thought Chisora would've beat Wilder for pretty much that reason, he'd have been horrible stylistically for Wilder (besides which, Chisora was a handful for plenty of contenders of various styles - he was a stiff test for most, and better boxers than Wilder struggled to beat him).

Looking forward to it. Ngannou is so funny when he is knocked the **** out.

Last time he needed medical assistance to get up from the canvas. Let's hope that he doesnt die in the ring though. Watching him drooling on the canvas is funny, watching him dying in the ring doesnt seem very funny to me.
