Pryor. Tszyu liked to fight at a measured pace. If he thought Ricky Hatton was a whirlwind, he would think Pryor was an F5 tornado.
Pryor is tainted goods. Black bottle level tainted goods. So in this hypothetical does he have the special water mixed correctly? If so Pryor wins. If not who knows.
He fought the same way his whole career and was in his mid 30's when he lost to Hatton. Maybe it would have made some difference if he was five years younger but It was clear the pressure, volume and pace was an issue for him. He couldn't set his feet or keep Hatton at mid range where he liked to operate. Pryor would be on him all night. Going into the fight, Tzysu looked as good as he ever did in his wins over Mitchell the fight before.
I'm not a fan of Pryor's but I think he wins this fight Tszyu didn't like fighting swarmers who gave him no punching room and pressed him for the entire fight aka Hatton, Phillips. Tszyu liked to fight at his own pace and as I said if you give him range and time to land that deadly right hand then he's very dangerous. But Pryor wouldn't be giving Tszyu time or space to set up punches and Tszyu can't fight in the trenches up close. If you can't beat Hatton and Phillips then logically you're not beating Pryor.
I’d probably go Pryor but I wouldn’t completely discount Tszyu. KT, with an extensive am career behind him as well his pro career, was old and worn by the time of the Hatton fight - and Ricky did employ a number of not so legal tactics that the ref acted blind to. Would Pryor employ those same tactics? - not that I am aware of. But there was the Phillips KO loss - as already mentioned - which was sort of like the first Louis - Schmeling fight imo, - in so far as Phillips soaking up punishment but, at the same time, KT being awfully vulnerable to the consistently thrown right hands until he could take no more - Pryor’s excellent boxing skills, fast hands and incessant attack would definitely stand him in good stead. However, it would be interesting to see how Pryor might’ve coped with some direct hits from Tszyu. Judah, extremely fast and evasive looked the goods for a round or so, but then KT remained cool, intelligently adjusted and timed him for a perfect right hand - and who didn’t love the funky chicken dance that followed….
I favour Pryor to outwork him, closes the distance relatively easily because of Tszyu’s lack of foot speed or upper body movement, then from there, Tszyu is at a big disadvantage on the inside. Tszyu could walk him onto something when Pryor closes the distance though.
True, there's no real proof that Pryor's bottle contains a booster or such,I felt like Alexis is really just A bit past it and Pryor pierces him.
I wouldn't doubt it having **** in it considering the fact that this is Panama Lewis we're talking about, the same Lewis who soaked Resto's hand wraps in plaster before the match with Collins Jr... BUT, as everybody who watched the fight between Pryor and Arguello saw, Aaron didn't win because of some "black bottle"- He whooped the **** out of Alexis from post to post during the ENTIRE fight. The Hawk didn't need to cheat.
Excerpt from an interview Emanuel Steward gave in 2009 : "Another one was the second fight with Alexis Arguello and Arron Pryor, when Pryor asked me to train him. He was afraid going into the rematch with Arguello because Panama Lewis had been arrested and put in jail at the time, and he was the guy who trained him for the first fight, and even though he never admitted it in so many words, he told me that they were basically getting by with some kind of things that were not legal".
