I agree, to his credit he's stayed active but Wilder was as shot as shot gets and Zhang is an ancient Chinese mummy who still put him down twice. Any objective analysis says you are probably correct. I like Dubois by late stoppage over him.
After Saturday night Parker would have fought: Daniel Dubois Anthony Joshua Joe Joyce Dillian Whyte Derek Chisora Hughie Fury Deontay Wilder Andy Ruiz Zhilei Zhang Carlos Takam Think we take "hype job" off the table
Hype job is a dumb term for Parker but if he loses Saturday, that list looks more like a Chisora resume than a world beater There's a strong argument he lost to 3 of the wins there too
Exactly. The OPs post is a bit of a troll. Few fighters have "drastic jumps" past 30 y/o. You could easily crticize DDs win over AJ as beating a past it big name. DD has a legit wins over Miller (and what exactly is so great about his resume?) and Hrgović (lucky for DD that Filip sustained cuts, by fair punches or fouls). Let's not overhype DD !
People will come on this website and literally say anything. World champion that’s been right there in the mix for about a decade now whilst fighting good opposition is somehow a hypejob?
Dubois is full of confidence after the AJ blast out and this could be his downfall,If Dubois comes out trying to do the same to Parker I think Parker has shown against noted punchers already that he can find the win down the stretch. Dubois is an offensive power house nobody is going to say any different but I’m still not sold on his ability to adapt and find a way to win when things start slipping away from him during a fight. Tbh who ever wins this fight on there current form it’s most likely the best win of there careers so far .
I agree, his fights v Zhang and Wilder were cagey and boring, he really didn`t land that much in those fights, just enough each round to keep his nose in front, he`ll have to throw far more punches v Dubois.
In the mix losing to Joyce and Whyte in non title fights, he was awful v AJ, not nearly agressive enough, he just can`t kept into that next geat, very low out-put fighter.
Most of the greats had great performances and conclusive wins too against top opponents. Parker has no great performances against top opponents. Wilder was finished and Chisora isn’t top tier.
I'm going for Parker to win on points this Saturday. If he loses fair play, he lost to a beast who's come into his own and may well be one of the best HWs on the planet. Meanwhile if Dubois loses he's apparently lost to a hypejob with no good wins.
