You did. In the threads about Ali and Marciano you were quoting the height and weight of the top ten, you had Ortiz in your top 5.

Wilder also fought a high number against ranked fighters (I just listed 10 above and there’s more. That’s just one run)

The only thing Mike did wilder didn’t was become undisputed and “lineal” by beating an already retired Holmes

What are relevant are results and Ortiz didn't achieve much.

Why would you cite subjective ratings as evidence of anything without reaults to back them up

To be honest I don't really do all time rankings either I just ask people while not doing them myself.

You complain wilder didn’t fight ranked fighters but have an issue with official rankings???
    It doesn’t make sense.

2012/2014 I meant was the klitschko era, which ended around 2015.

pov hasn’t been a world champ since 2012, he was past his best when AJ and Whyte fought him, and when he popped dirty before his scheduled fight with wilder

How many guys ranked below him in the top 10 did Ortiz beat? Because that would really help give substance to your argument

Because they are official and a matter of fact in the sport of boxing. Respect the sport I’ve lived in please, you claim to be a fan but sound like a person who doesn’t respect authority or the sports official bodies.

results can also be considered objective considering judges score them.

I was going to say, I’m not 12 that I sit and write a list and move them about to rank em.
It’s a flawed concept and sounds childish, ranking girlfriends next?

enjoy the moment and the fights. Most sane people might just have a top 10, no more

But if rankings are fraudulent, so are the rankings below or above him.
You defeat your own argument here.

it’s odd you keep saying this as you don’t need to beat a top 10 guy to get into the top 10.
as the traditional way in the 90’s for a Brit to get managed to a world title shot wasn’t to beat other top 10 fighters, it was consistently beating guys most haven’t heard of. Get enough and you get noticed. Calzaghe, Hatton, etc.

People don't tend to list beyond 10 or 20 but they may have a rough figure in mind. Good for those who do though makes for good discussion in particular with "P4P" lists.

Usyk has only beat AJ (got ko’d by Ruiz), Dubois (a kid and he needed to fake a low blow), fury (whose only wins are an old Wlad and a bum dosser)

    so usyk is irrelevant too

Agreed and gassiev lost to wallin
Bellew got starched by a midget lhw
Dubois was crushed by Joyce and quit
    Who has breidis beaten?

You can pick holes in most fighters resumes, other than the very best and even then it's possible

Ortiz doesn't have results to separate himself from guys like Whyre and Parker regardless of where exactly you choose to rate him.

If the top guys consistently fought each other ratings would be less subjective
