Dubois ill, so Bakole replaces him.

Gutted for Dubois, but Bakole is as good a late replacement that I've ever seen.

Quality from Parker taking that and not settling for a rollover

I imagine he’s been sorted out with an increased purse, but yes I’d expect nothing less from a guy like Parker.

I wonder if Joshua was sounded out. He’s there to spectate already.

Can't complain at this, at such late late notice, as a replacement fight / fighter.

This is one of the best, if not the best, replacements in the week of a fight pull out that I've ever seen.

Caveat: the above sentence is off the top of my head and I've had no tea and good few Guinness'.

    Anyway, what's your thoughts guys?

Huge credit to both for taking that.

Seen a few numpties saying Dubois has ‘bottled it’ ffs. He’s been in with Joshua and Usyk in the last 18 months but Parker is where he draws the line.

Are you lot taking the ****ing **** with the Parker rimming? Bakole’s coming off the couch in Congo ffs Why would he decline it when Bakole’s is mandatory for IBF and hasn’t had a camp? He will come in like a sumo breathing out his arse

Couldn't have asked for a better new opponent at short notice and credit goes to both fighters for accepting it but this is still disappointing and a downgrade from Parker vs Dubois. Even though Parker vs Bakole is another great match up, Bakole hasn't had a real training camp for the fight and will be landing in Saudi less than 48 hours before the fight massively under prepared.

That may be so but Bakole’s gameplan will always be to end a fight within 3-4 rounds even if he’s had an 8-week camp. No matter who he fights he’ll plant himself in the middle of the ring and throw bombs.

Also the Saudis run a slick operation. It wouldn’t shock me if they have had Bakole on standby as a late replacement after the card was made.

being a fat slob affects not only stamina but reflexes, foot speed, coordination and so on. That’s why so many heavyweights underperform and latch onto the fatso logic of it doesn’t affect us . I get what you’re saying but this is why I respect boxers who stay in shape. All we’ve heard for years from fury was he’s in anazing shape while in truth he’s a fat slob and breathing out his arse it he Actuslly throws punches or put under pressure. He’s never sustain the intensity against someone like Dubois.

if Bakole beats Parker on two days’ notice the Parker overrating has to stop pronto

Bakole has been training apparently, Billy Nelson posted a picture of him in camp in January. Be interesting to see what he weighs in at though. Hard to make any predictions before seeing him.

Anyway isn't Parker the mandatory for the IBF which is why he was supposed to be fighting for it? I thought Bakole was due to fight an eliminator against Ajagba.

Either way most fighters will take a knockover job 48 hours out so Parker definitely deserves credit imo.

Yeah I considered that too re the last bit. The fact Martin jumped on it so quickly suggests to me he's hardly been sat around doing nothing.

Wow, I hoped the replacement would be someone good, having Bakole is great. What an opportunity for Bakole, best believe he's going to go for it. Credit to Parker, he really will fight anyone.

    Bakole to win by UD
