If Parker can handle this, chapeau bas. This will prove that this transformation under Andy Lee's watchful eye is really happening and at a great level. Three years ago, the much less explosive Joyce treated Parker like a younger brother in the ring, making mincemeat out of him. Bakole, even if he is not 100% prepared, is a big and dangerous challenge. On the other hand, in my opinion, this is an easier fight for Parker than the one with Dubois. In my opinion, Daniel would most likely lose to Martin in the ring, but for Joseph, in my opinion, Bakole's characteristics give more hope. Dubois is fast. He is a fighter at AJ's level in terms of speed. He is also explosive and aggressive, which, with good movement (he has recently been jumping like a horse), is a deadly threat. Yes, he seemed to have problems with receiving strong blows and enduring the hardships of the fight, but after the fights with Miller, Hrgovic and Joshua, this should be considered a thing of the past. Bakole has an incredible ease in dealing blows in combinations, hits hard and painfully + is certainly very strong naturally, but with all this he is lazy in the ring, takes a lot and has a "shambler" style. Someone like Parker who should have an easier time outplaying, especially since he recently had the opportunity to practice this in two fights. Parker can handle it. The only question is what about the weight. If he really bulked up to the biggest weight of his career, it could be bad because Bakole is a fighter who needs exactly this in the ring - toe-to-toe wars. That's when he shines the most. In general, it's crazy what Saudi money guarantees us. It's unthinkable what fights they serve us. If only boxers had infinite health... In this madness, this is the element that can let you down.
We will be celebrating down under whether you like it or not just like we did when Parker dominated Wilder.
Bro I am definitely going to celebrate. It would be another great win for Parker's resume, asterisk or no.
*ring, ring* "yeah, this is Martin" "Hi Martin. It's Turki. What's the biggest purse you've ever earned?" "$XYZ" "If I add a zero to that, would you hop on a plane today and fight Joe Parker on Saturday?"
Very good replacement fight at such short notice. I think this might be an even more dangerous fight for Joseph Parker.
Kind of a win win for Bakole. Gets paid handsomely, has a perfectly valid excuse that he was out of training and in the Congo two days before the fight. Ordinarily I'd say this is a great fight but is Bakole really at championship level fitness and sharpness? Shalom says he was preparing to get Bakole in the ring for May, so at absolute best he might have been doing some light training. All being said, I'd much prefer to see a fit and ready Dubois than a not prepared Bakole
I don't understand how or why anyone would put Parker and Anderson in the same sentence as if any comparison would really make any sense? Anderson is a prospect, nowhere near his prime yet and hasn't beaten anyone good - an ancient Charles Martin who's been crap for years and barely even gatekeeper level (and I'm being generous!!) is easily his best. Then you have Parker who's a legit contender who's beaten other legit contenders. These guys are at very, very different places on the boxing ladder.
If Parker wins his resume is going to be great! Then everyone can say: "He beat Wilder, Zhang and Bakole back to back!" And the reply will be "Shot, old, no camp" It will be crack up.
