I’m not so sure, I think Dubois and Bakole are similar nowadays. Dubois is a lot more skilled but he is also a come forward boxer who throws non stop. But one thing Bakole is that Dubois isn’t… a ****ing tank
Just to weigh in on the Fury vs Parker resume conversation...Fury arguably drew to Ngannou (I personally scored it a draw). That significantly damages his legacy and gets somewhat overlooked in my opinion
Fight realistically should have been stopped, and even with a-side privilege it was one good punch away. But if you wanna split hairs go for it.
I don’t think the game plan changes that much, Parker still has to not get hit and stay elusive moving laterally and throwing as he goes out of range. The main difference here is that Bakole will definitely tire as the fight goes on, also Bakole will just walk through Parker’s shots, where ddd would be working the opening. I think Parker definitely has the ability to stay out of range for the 6/7 rounds until Bakole tires at that point you could knock him down with a feather. All that being said I don’t have a clue what happens here, I hope Parker gets it done though
Great replacement but Bakole takes this last moment. And Bakole as scary as he looks is not all that proven at the highest levels. Parker is a big step up in competition for him. If Bakole wins he will have arrived at the top level scene. If he loses…..he will have a rebuild fight with Ajagba.
What I don't understand is how there's any point in comparing a prospect with a legit contender. The difference in levels is so vast that any stylistic similarities or differences aren't really meaningful - granted you acknowledge how far apart they are, I just can't understand why you'd do that and still use Anderson as a point of reference as if it had any relevance.
You don't understand why someone would reference a fighter's last opponent/fight? Are ****ing stupid? Clearly you are since you have a Butterbean avatar. You act like Anderson was a journeyman. He was a two time national amateur champion that was getting a push by Top Rank. Clearly he wasn't ready for a step up to Bakole. Again, Anderson was Bakole's last fight and it was a dominant performance that lead to him getting this opportunity.
Err.... it's short notice for both of them! They both haven't trained for each other. Would be a legitimate win unless you think Bakole plays cricket all week when he doesn't have a fight scheduled.
Wow that’s huge! Turki really made sure that this is the best card of the millenium hasn’t he. And big shoutouts to both men, It takes ballar to agree on a fight like this on a couple of days notice. Socks for Usyk though, this means he’ll have to wait for the opportunity to become 2x undisputed HW champ.
When you're talking about a prospect on one hand and a top, proven legit contender on the other? It's a ridiculous comparison and you'd have to be pretty dumb to think it has any relevance. Wow. You really think someone's choice of avatar has anything to say about their ability to analyse fighters and fights? That is, and I quote "****ing stupid". Look at his resume... If he's beyond journeyman level, it isn't by much AT ALL - or at least, he hasn't proven it. (And PS. America isn't exactly producing the cream of heavyweight boxers right now - being a British amateur national champ, for example, would be more meaningful). Who, himself, isn't massively proven... Yet(?). It was his last fight. It was a dominant win. But leading to him getting the opportunity? That's a bit of a stretch - he's a late replacement, he practically begged for it and he was the most unlikely to be an unpopular pick out of the options available..
