If Mcall is the Gold Standard in chins then Fury is the Gold Standard in recovery and certainly up there with Holmes and Ali. Fury’s chin is around an 8 imo and I’d also say Hughie has the best chin of the Fury clan so far .

 

He’s like Holmes. Average chin, fantastic recovery abilities.

 

I don't agree Holmes has a considerably better chin than Fury he had 70+ fights and was only dropped 7 times with a majority of those knockdowns coming against a prime Mike Tyson.

Fury has had less than half the amount of fights and been dropped more times and half of those knockdowns are against unranked opposition.

 

I think he has a decent but not exceptional chin. It's not like he can't be put down - and by non punchers.
But his recovery skills are definitely impressive. That's the real power here. I'm not really a Fury fan but I do recognise his very good recovery skills (with the caveat that his resume is quite thin so it's not like he was consistently tested against the very best people out there).

 

Downed by lots of people, always gets up. Don't know whether that's chin or recovery. 7.

 

4 ranked opposition is a bit unfair. Admittedly a number of opposition has been lower to mid European level but coming up he was WBC and wbo mandatory so faced ranked fighters on the way, Johnson, chisora, hammer, then you take into account Klitschko, wilder, wallin, Whyte, usyk there is 8 right there

 

homes had this habit of tripping over his own feet when old and trying to avoid a punch, and then it being ruled a knockdown.

 

I'm talking about Ring Magazine Ratings I refer to them when rating top 10 fighters per year.

And neither Chisora, Wallin, Johnson, Hammer, were top 10 ranked Heavyweights when Fury fought them.

And realistically apart from Chisora neither of those Heavyweights i listed above would be rated amongst top 20 Heavyweights of this era.

 

Fair play. I think Chisora was ranked in one of the 3 fights, he usually scrapes in about 9 or 10

 

Extremely impressive from Holmes I actually thought he was knocked down more than that. In a 579 round career......

 

He embarrassed the sport with the Ngannou KD
