You know, I really feel bad for Parker

I know it is not profound or anything, but with Usyk now saying he wants the Dubois fight next, it is pretty obvious that even if Parker beats Bakole, he will be overlooked for the moment.

Parker had a chance to become a two-time titlist, here, and even if he was never unidisputed or unified like Usyk, Fury and Joshua, that still makes for a real legacy...look at how highly regarded Tim Witherspoon is on here, for example.

I thought Parker would have been a better opponent for Usyk, too, since we have seen Dubois before already, and since Parker does bring some serious resume. But mostly, I just feel bad that he's not getting a chance that he earned.

The IBF belt is with Dubois, so for Usyk the opportunity of 2 x Undisputed at heavy adds to the legacy. However I’m with you, if Parker comes through Bakole, I’d really like to see the fight with Usyk. In an ideal world we get a double header next, Usyk v the winner of tonight and Dubois v the winner of Zhang and Kabayel - then undisputed.

Same. Feel gutted for him really. I have been so pumped for this fight and great opportunity for him, it’s a shame it fell through at the last minute.

I feel as though he was really focused on and ready to regain a portion of the heavyweight championship. Hopefully he gets through this fight with Bakole injury free and with a victory so that we can get him in a title fight asap.

Parker looks like he is trying to make the best of it, but I reckon he is pretty gutted about losing the title shot. By the looks of their preparation they were extremely focused and honed on Dubois and he had a good chance of winning.

Hopefully Parker wins against Bakole and entertains as well, because thats what Turki wants to see and Turki will more likely give him another big fight if Parker looks good and gets the KO.

Also I'm kind of hoping that the IBF enforce a mandatory so Parker/Bakole gets Usyk next, but that seems unlikely.

    lol

What is wrong with you people? He was in for an absolute hiding against Dubois and now he's got a Bakole who's had to catch four planes and has arrived in Saudi with hours to spare.

Yet you feel sorry for Parker. Pass me the sick bucket! hahaha

Yeah it's not been a great time for Parker. He has been side lined for nearly a year waiting for Zhang to make up his mind if he wants the rematch and now this. He'll basically be side lined again after he beats Bakole as Usyk/Dubois get made.

Anyone know if they are making Parker/Bakole of the IBF mandatory as Ajagba/Bakole was for the IBF mandatory and Parker is ranked above Ajagba by the IBF, so it would make sense if they did. At least it would mean Parker gets first crack at the IBF champion.

On top of that, if he beats Bakole, his win will be ridiculed by some because Martin took the fight on 48 hours notice. If he loses, he will by dumped on, cause he lost to a guy who took a fight on 48 hours notice.

I mean he's making millions to fight someone who's only had 2 days notice.

He'll have another top ten opponent on his resume.

He's a mandatory for Usyk so that's not going anywhere.

There's nothing to feel sorry for really. If he got his shot a year earlier, he loses to Usyk a year earlier and then has to rebuild.

Considering Parker lost to AJ in a lacklustre affair and got absolutely destroyed by Joyce, I'd say he's doing pretty well for himself.

I mean, it's a shame but also a valid criticism. Bakole Parker is a great fight on paper but it'd have been much better even if Bakole had just a couple of weeks' notice. At this short notice, they'd usually either cancel the fight or bring in some jobber who's there to lose. To fly in someone with their own career momentum like Bakole is pretty wild.

My real concern is for DD who is going to have to memories a couple new phrases other than "any time any place" and "Iet's go" for his next fight.

Usyk no longer has the IBF belt so that situation isn’t possible unless Usyk takes a voluntary, which I doubt. He’s only in it for the history at this point so it’s double undisputed or nothing I think

Parker vs Usyk is a far better fight than Dubois vs Usky. Basically because we have already watched Dubois vs Usyk and only delusional people can think that Dubois has any chance vs Usyk or that he stood even a little chance to win the first fight. I have zero interest in whatching them fighting again. At least Parker vs Usyk is something that I haven't watched yet.

Bakole might be exhausted from the trip, I feel sorry for Bakole who will probably lose, maybe even by a late stoppage...

The fight is for the WBO mandatory position and WBO is next in line for the mandatory defense.
