Zhilei Zhang needs to retire now

I thought his output and handspeed was way better than his Parker/Wilder fights. He doesn't have the engine past four rounds.

This is nothing new with Zhang.

 

I also don't think Zhang was ready for Kabayel to push him back like that. His gameplan seemed to be centered around cutting off the ring and setting off combinations

 

Dunno about retiring, but he definitely isn't elite.

Why doesn't he do some jogging? Stamina problems can be improved.

 

Give him someone chinny next, he can still score some nice highlight reel KO's lol. No idea how Kabayel took those shots in the early rounds.

 

I disagree. I love watching this guy fight and there's some good matchups for him. Loser of Bakole/Parker?

I don't think Zhang can really come back from this. His gas tank, which was bad before, is non existent now.

Excellent performance from Kabayel.

 

Zhang is a very good, fan-friendly fighter. The Kabayel fight was the most terrible matchup for him.
Plenty of fun fights to be made, and winnable fights on world level too.

 

All of these mid-riffs heavyweights are bad matchups for one another. It's the elite boxers in Usyk & Fury who are the cream of the crop. In a era of massive hitters the two lightest hitters reign supreme and the big hitters like Zhang, AJ etc are getting cleaned out by men who are tough and game as they come in Parker, Kabayel etc. Watch out for Bakole now, 2 days notice is a tough call though for a fully fit Parker.

 

He could still ice a lot of guys in the top 10. No need to retire yet. He got hit with 100 body shots.

 

Bring back big David Price for a clash of the big punching four round fighters.
