https://trendsnewsline.com/2025/02/23/death-of-boxing-legend-greg-haugen-a-tribute-to-a-warrior/ A very tough guy with underrated boxing skills. He achieved a lot even though he wasn't fast of hand or foot, didn't have huge power; he was, however, very solid technically and he worked hard and liked to fight. A true professional.
Awful, awful news. I'll always remember his feud with Pazienza, and a lot of us felt he won two of three regardless of offical verdicts. He was the first to beat Camacho, and also worth noting he coined the phrase "Tijuana cab drivers." RIP, champ.
Horrible news. One of my favorite fighters of his, and my, era. Rest in Peace, Warrior. This content is protected
Very sad news to hear. Was a very good underrated fighter and champion. Fought just about everyone. Win or lose he was fearless. Faced the likes of Julio Cesar Chavez, Pernell Whitaker, Hector Camacho, Ray Mancini, Vinny Pazienza, Tony Lopez, Jimmy Paul. RIP Greg Haugen
Wild My Buddy and I, while hanging out watching the Saudi card yesterday, were talking about his win over Camacho and even quoting some of the commentary from Lampley from his two fights with Camacho. And dang, now he’s gone. RIP Champ!!! Sucks.
Haugen always gave a maximum effort. Can't ask for much more from any pro or amateur fighter. R.I.P Champ.
Gutted. Sadly only really remembered for the Chavez fight but was a quality fighter with wins of Pazienza (was robbed in the 1st fight), Jimmy Paul, Ray Mancini, Hector Camacho, undefeated EBU champion and future WBO Welter champ Gert Bo Jacobsen in Denmark. Fought much bigger opponents in toughman contests in Alaska and came out of nowhere to beat the favoured puncher Chris Calvin and then Freddie Roach before becoming 2 time Lightweight champion and light-welter. A real character in and out of the ring. RIP Champ.
