I think you said it right. He lost his fire in there somewhere. He got i back and the division is a lot better place because of it.
My main criticism of Parker in his earlier big fights was that he wouldn't kick into a higher gear needed in order to win important rounds. I think nearly all were winnable fights for him but he maybe lacked a bit of fire. It seems he's going for broke at the moment hope it continues, always said hes the right age to cross over two generations of HWs if he wanted too
I think it was his interview with Darren Barker(?) he was saying that he was way over training and under recovering leading to him feeling flat come fight night. I think a lot of people genuinely don't understand how bad Parker's training, especially his S&C, was before and thats why they can't acknowledge the improvement he's had now that he finally has a proper team behind him. Imagine what Parker could have done if he had had proper support from day one like a fighter like Anthony Joshua did.
That was my problem with him for the longest time. I really hated him because I would see flashes of brilliance from him, but he never pushed it and would lose fights because of it; it was so damn frustrating to watch. Like being teased by a babe all night and her never delivering. He then was boring for a while. It was frustrating to watch because you could SEE something there that wasn't being used. He latest tear has won me back over.
I completely understand, feeling similarly myself. Where as now, I don't think Parker has been tested in any of his last fights. I wonder how much more he has in his pocket for when he needs it.
I thought Parker's career was over a few years back. Another trick that Parker has learned is how to get in and out against taller opponents.
I like Parker but it seems they are making him appear better than he is. He is a solid fighter but a notch below world class.
You could be right, but I respectfully disagree. Parker is one that I was wrong on. He has some good wins. I underestimated Parker
True but now that I’m reading it right your point is even worse. What has great fights that are close got to to with a specific individual? It doesn’t bring any value to my point of Parker never winning against any top fighter with an excellent performance.
