According to the Croatian media, Bakole and Zhang are the main candidates for Hrgovic's comeback fight...

Hrgovic is completely inactive, Parker would comfortably beat him...

One tune up and then in with Parker should do nicely.

Isn't Bakole fighting Ajagba soon in May? Bakole V Hrgovic would defo be a better fight though.

Zhang would probably make sense though as there was some controversy in regards to the result of the first fight.

Not too realistic but would like to see Hrgovic up against Ruiz or Miller.

Well, if it's Bakole, that means he isn't coming back for a while. Bakole has another fight already scheduled.

Not sure what happened with Hrgovic. His prime is drifting away.

Zhang is just too slow and old rn. Zhang v Hrgovic wouldnt be great matchup.
Hrgovic vs Huni or Wardley makes more sense to me

Hrgovic is old news. Until he proves he cares about his craft, he doesn't deserve anything other than a lower level undercard bout.

Nothing scheduled yet. The purse bid was cancelled and we haven't heard anything about the fight being oficially signed. And now, after Bakole lost, he may go down in the IBF rankings.

    Exactly...

Name recognition? Poor outside enthusiast circles (and casuals pay the bills, in this regard).

Career momentum? Little to none - lost last time out, hasn't won a fight since 2023, best win is a razor thin points victory over a fighter who doesn't do at all well on cards.

It looks like he thinks he can take his pick and name his price - and if that's the case, it makes perfect sense why he's not getting fights made, because he's not in a position to pick and choose and earn big money.

He sat on a mandatory status for far too long and he's reaping the consequences of that error now.

I hope that his opponent will be at least someone from the Top 50

I wouldn't bet on it, myself.

Only 2 of the last 4 have been - and none before that.

Maybe if it's someone with nothing to lose that'd give him a recognisable name (assuming he wins) but then it depends what he'd demand on the cash side of things...
Would you bet against him pricing himself out of, for example, a fight with Joyce or Whyte?

And as underwhelming as that might seem to you, consider that even in their declined state, those guys would still be closer to his best current win than his second.

It's possible, and Hrgovic himself has nothing to lose, his preparations are taking a bit too long to fight an excessively bad fighter, but we'll see, I hope, soon...

I agree he has nothing to lose.

    The question is... Does he?

Or does he still think he's in a much more valuable position than he is?
